Medical Assistants are a vital aspect to our team that allows us to give individualized care to each and every patient. Our medical assistants help our clinic run smoothly and efficiently. A new hire would begin their orientation by learning the flow of the office and rooming patients. New skills and tasks will be introduced as orientation progresses. The MA documents the visit and then completes all necessary orders, paperwork, and care needs. What a Medical Assistant will do:

  • Room patients and prepare them to see the provider

  • Obtain vitals, review and document patient history (allergies, medications, medical/surgical history)

  • Direct patient care including removal of staples/sutures, Routine Immunizations, Allergy Injections, Phlebotomy and DME fitting. We offer on-the-job training for these skills.

  • Prepare for minor office procedures by obtaining consent, readying medication, and setting up supplies

What a Medical Assistant will need:

  • Successful completion of an accredited certified Medical Assistant program and be able to obtain one of the following certifications within 90 days of hire.

  • CMA (AAMA). RMA (AMT), NCMA (NCCT), CCMA (NHA) or NRCMA (NHAP) certification within 90 days of hire.

  • OR Active military members and veterans with formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces or its equivalent during U.S. military services within the past five years and be able to obtain one of the following certifications within 90 days of hire.

  • CMA (AAMA). RMA (AMT), NCMA (NCCT), CCMA (NHA) or NRCMA (NHAP) certification within 90 days of hire.

  • OR Licensed Paramedic in the State of Michigan

  • OR Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan.
