What You Will do:
Create, execute and manage Gartner's global marketing strategy to support new business growth goals by creating marketing programs targeted to engage existing clients for upsell/cross-sell and develop new prospects for conversion into clients.
Work with Product to create and articulate value proposition messaging to market Gartner products/services in the global marketplace, across all functions (IT, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Sales, Legal) and all size companies (small to enterprise)
Work with Research to leverage Gartner existing content into a compelling content marketing strategy without cannibalizing this core asset for Gartner, and continuing to protect Gartner's independence and objectivity.
Work with Sales to create, qualify, nurture, and convert high potential leads into clients. Sales is your most important partner to drive new business.
Maximize ROI of all marketing spend (people and program $). Gartner is very fact- and data-driven, so analytical decision making around marketing spend investment is critical.
Provide motivational leadership to 140 growing to 175+ person global team, with primary locations being Stamford, CT, Arlington VA, and London, UK.
Optimize a full set of new business growth $, cost, and marketing ROI KPIs across all marketing programs and tactics.
Rigorously evaluate impact of marketing investments to understand link between marketing spend and key business outcomes.
Evolve a marketing analytics function to effectively and efficiently measure results.
Evolve Gartner marketing from mainly offline (prospects attending events) to on-line/digital (including improving SEO performance of Gartner.com), from outbound (email marketing) to inbound, and from tactical to more strategic.
Create a highly engaged, aligned and productive culture. Identify/leverage employee talents, hire/train candidates to fill key positions, set an expectation of excellence, and recognize and mentor high performers.
What You Will Need:
15+ years of successful B2B marketing experience, primarily for services companies (data/information services preferred)
Prior sales experience preferred, but not required
BA/BS in Business, Marketing or equivalent work experience, MBA degree preferred.
Extensive experience in marketing strategy formulation and execution, with clear positive results achieved
Ability to synthesize complex ideas into simple, concise value statements and core messages to drive increased revenue and increased market awareness
Thorough understanding of Gartner products and services, our market (including key competitors), our prospects/customers (especially their needs), and how to effectively reach, engage with, and convert prospects.
Expertise to create and execute a strategic communications plan for various stakeholders / audiences, especially in Sales and Product.
Demonstrated ability to create quantitative-based business analysis and develop clear business strategies that drive results.
Experience working in a functional organization, which is Sales-led
Ability/willingness to travel ~50% of the time.
