Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) Field Engineering (FE) is seeking a Senior Level Engineer to work as a Guidance System Test Engineer for the Trident Guidance System test program based out of a customer site at the Naval Ordinance Test Unit (NOTU) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Cape Canaveral FL. The assignment will be in direct support of the Navy's Trident Guidance System test program, working within the Eastern Range Operations Systems Test group.
The individual will be responsible for performing system testing of the Trident Guidance System (GS), working with the Test Lead to collect and process test data, and generate related documentation of test activities. This role also requires the ability to conduct a problem investigation individually, and develop and present detailed failure reports, as needed.
The candidate will present to and interface directly with the customers (internal and external). In addition, the candidate will provide technical status to management and customers.
Following a training period, this engineer will have minimal oversight and expected to be self-sufficient in compliant execution of contract deliverables.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
System Test execution
Test Data Collection and Processing
Support the investigation and impact analysis of test article failures
System Test Station (STS) Operation - Setup and maintenance of test system software used to perform functional, calibration, and environmental tests
Troubleshoot and resolve System Test Station (STS) issues
Technical writing test reports, training materials, customer presentations as needed
Training must be able to absorb new technical material quickly and then train others as needed
Four (4) years of related hands-on maintenance and test experience
Must be detail oriented, organized, and conscientious
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, ability to coordinate and schedule multiple tasks, ability to work closely with other individuals
Familiarity with the SSBN-R, D5 Mod1 Guidance Systems, and Fire Control
Knowledge of MATLAB software and Java
Experience in calibration of test and measurement equipment
Current Active Security Clearance
Desired Education (including Major):
BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
SECRET - Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance within one year.
U.S. Citizenship is required
