Our Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Team in sunny Orlando, Florida is seeking an experienced systems engineer and algorithm developer to lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers through the development and production phases of a fast-paced acquisition program.
Our diverse team specializes in the design and deployment of advanced algorithms in the areas of Inertial Navigation, Servo Control, Line-of-Sight Reconstruction, Signal & Image Processing, Multi-Target Tracking, and Object Classification (Discrimination).
To be considered for this role you must currently hold and active Secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years.
Qualified candidates are expected to have a strong record of innovative work in at least one of these fields and a basic familiarity with all of them.
Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of EO/IR detection technologies, EO/IR M&S methods, and EO/IR performance analysis, as they will provide technical oversight over data-driven/model-driven assessments of system-level performance, as well as requirements verification.
The Algorithms Lead will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Algorithms Integrated Product Team (IPT) within an Agile development framework.
Contribute subject matter expertise to one or more critical algorithms or technology areas.
Interface regularly with the prime, customer, and test pilot communities to report algorithm performance
status and represent the technical conscience of the program following the guidance of the Chief Engineer.
Plan and execute the Algorithm IPT's scope of the program's Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
Track status of Earned Value (EV) milestones and provide timely reports to program management.
Lead the Algorithms IPT through critical program milestones (PDR, CDR).
Coordinate HWIL efforts to integrate algorithms into the embedded software application in collaboration with the Software and Systems Engineering teams.
Co-Lead the planning and execution of flight tests along with Integration & Test Lead in order to meet program objectives; coordinate and provide on-site support in the field.
Coordinate Algorithm IPT efforts to perform pre-flight predictions and rapid post-flight analysis.
Coordinate Algorithm IPT support to troubleshoot issues on the production floor.
Hold Algorithm IPT to high standards of technical and engineering excellence.
Ensure Algorithm IPT work products satisfy peer-review and meet design assurance criteria
Identify risks, opportunities, and affordability initiatives that affect the Algorithm IPT.
Participate in manpower allocation planning across the other program area.
Engage in yearly IRAD planning and execution.
Coordinate technical support for business capture efforts.

A Master's degree from an accredited college in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar with at least 7 years of professional experience
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar with at least 9 years of professional experience
Strong understanding of EO/IR detection technology, inertial navigation, multi-object tracking
Experience developing algorithms for real-time embedded systems
Strong business acumen and customer engagement skills
You must currently hold a Secret clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years to be considered for this role
