Kids Science Labs, the world leader in hands-on science education with locations in Chicago and Seattle, has a need for candidates to provide an exceptional guest experiences to our families who attend Kids Science Labs for classes, parties, and camps. This involves five-star customer service from the moment a family enters the door. Guest Services team members will warmly greet families, respond to phone inquiries, engage kids, schedule birthday parties, support our teacher and center directors, and assist with the management of the center during normal business hours (Tuesday- Sunday). Candidates must be available at least 20 hours a week, including weekends. Students, actors and entertainers, and all candidates who enjoy engaging people and supporting a socially responsible and team-based environment, are encouraged to apply to Kids Science Labs.

Desired Skills and Experience:

The Guest Services leader will be focused on assisting in the daily operations at one of our beautiful learning centers.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Past hospitality, retail, or museum experience
  • Interest in people and a desire to have interesting conversations
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong commitment to service

Requirements

Successful KSL Candidates must:

  • Enjoy providing a warm, welcoming greeting to all families
  • Be approachable and friendly, and able to remove conflict in a professional and courteous manner
  • Have previous customer service experience
  • Be highly responsible and dependable
  • Maintain professional appearance and communication at all times
  • Be willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends
  • Have comfort with computerized scheduling systems to enter customer information and schedule events
  • Support an organized front desk environment
  • Actively contribute to team monthly sales goals; understand and communicate the value of different products to guest families
  • Have open availability on Weekends and optionally Weekday mornings or afternoons
  • General mobility and movement around our learning environment to give tours to our new families, including kneeling to engage kids, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds as packages arrive

Ensure that the reception/front desk area and telephones are being covered properly. Foster and nurture positive relationships with clients. Qualifications * High School Diploma/GED or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Successful sales experience may be substituted for academic credential. * 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a spa or high-end retail environment. * Ability to multi-task, use personal judgment, utilize strong decision making, analytical and follow-up skills• Proficient with personal computers and contemporary software applications (MS Office Suite, Internet Explorer, etc.)• Compelling interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written), strong ability to influence and build rapport• Strong guest service orientation• Rapid learner with the ability to grasp concepts and protocols * Must maintain a high attention to detail.
