Job Description

Aqua Bamboo Waikiki 2425 Kuhio Ave. Honolulu, HI 96815

The Guest Service Agent ensures guests are treated with Aloha spirit, accurately, and efficiently. To serve as the "front line" personnel to the guest in handling problems, complaints, information needs and to show the guest the degree of attention, professionalism and clean appearance they expect from a top of the line hotel with a well-trained staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Check in and out all guests as courteously and effectively as possible.

  • Post all charges correctly to guest accounts during shift.

  • Count bank at the beginning and end of the shift, balance all departments and make deposit with completed accuracy.

  • Accurately handle the basic functions of PBX and the front desk such as checking guest in and out, taking and forwarding messages and taking reservations.

  • All other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned and deemed appropriate by management.

Qualification Standards:

  • Adaptable experience with travel industry reservation systems and hotel property management systems preferred.

  • Standard Microsoft Office tools essential.

  • Knowledge of database system development preferred.

  • Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills

Job Description Greet guests as they arrive at and depart from the property; and assist them with luggage. Transport guest luggage to/from guest rooms. Escort guests to rooms and inform guests of all hotel services and features. Responsible for attending to immediate needs of each guest upon arrival and throughout their stay for concierge services, etc. Thorough knowledge of all hotel services and amenities. * Transport guest luggage from the point of arrival at the hotel to their assigned room, from current room to reassigned room for room changes, and from their room to the point of departure from the hotel. * Correctly tag, store and retrieve luggage from holding room (if a room has checked-out and a new guest has checked in waiting for a vacant dirty room to be cleaned, luggage for the new guest may be stored in the guest room closet or on the luggage rack). * Assist guests with concierge related services. Knowledge of local restaurants, special events, city attractions, and guest amenities. * Maintain accurate log record of guest calls for Bell Person assistance. * Handle guest complaints immediately. * Retrieve guest laundry/dry cleaning from their rooms and deliver to appropriate location and verify with Front Desk if there are any outgoing laundry/dry cleaning. * Deliver items to guest rooms promptly to include: a) messages, b) mail, faxes, telefaxes, c) packages, d) flowers, e) sundry items requested by guest, f) gift items. * Monitor and maintain appearance of lobby areas and luggage holding room as well as polish/clean brass luggage carts. * Assist guests with unloading/loading of vehicles, guest requests and services, retrieval of theater tickets, flowers, etc. Diversity Commitment We celebrate the diversity of people, ideas and cultures.
