Appropriate teaching certificate as issued by the State of Arizona to include appropriate vocational certification and endorsements. 3. Teachers hired into Core Content Areas must be Highly Qualified at time of hire. 4. Meets North Central Association requirements for subject/grade area assigned, if applicable. 5. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.The teacher should demonstrate an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.
2.The teacher should plan using the state's standards, the school's curriculum, effective strategies, resources, and data to meet the needs of all students.
3.The teacher should effectively engage students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies in order to meet individual learning needs.
4.The teacher should systematically gather, analyze, and use all relevant data to measure student academic progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods and provide timely feedback to both students and parents throughout the school year.
5.The teacher should use resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered environment that is conducive to learning.
6.The teacher should maintain a commitment to professional ethics, communicate effectively, and take responsibility for and participate in professional growth that results in enhanced student learning.
7.The work of the teacher should result in acceptable, measurable, and appropriate student academic progress.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide appropriate therapy to eligible students, consult with teachers and other staff members, serve as a resource to faculty, and participate in Child Study Team. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1.Implements by instruction and action the District philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
2.Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; in harmony with the goals, establishes desired student performance objectives for all lessons, units, and projects; communicates these objectives to students.
3.Assesses students to determine whether desired student performance objectives are being achieved.
4.Plans, after identifying student needs, a program of study.
5.Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
6.Diagnoses the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis and refers to appropriate specialist where need exists.
7.Evaluates, conscientiously and fairly, the accomplishments of students and provides progress reports as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
8.Provides an atmosphere, physical and psychological, conducive to learning.
9.Maintains accurate permanent academic and attendance records for students.
10. Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Governing Board Policy.
12. Attends and participates in general faculty and department meetings.
13. Cooperates with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
14. Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for handicapped students.
15. Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified handicapped students.
16. Collaborates with classroom teachers and other staff members to implement behavior management programs and to provide suggestions for the student's daily activities.
17. Provides information, support and counsel to parents and family when appropriate.
18. Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning special education.
19. Participates in Child Study Team meetings to provide information, classroom observations, and diagnosis.
20. Provides information and assistance in placement of students who require residential or outside agency assist

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: The Classroom Teacher reports to the site administrator.
The Classroom Teacher will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
