Deloitte Global - Technology Internship

Join our select group of Deloitte Global interns, and you'll get an inside look at what it's really like to work for a global technology organization.

More experience in less time:

You'll pack a lot into 10 short weeks. Learn first-hand how GTS enhances cross border execution, protects and enhances the Deloitte brand, provides consistent delivery of world class services to key strategic clients, and elevates the focus and commitment to the middle market.

You will be aligned with a business area where you will work directly with our internal clients providing services designed to help them solve their most complex business and technology problems. You'll work hard and have lots of fun too!

During your Global Technology Services internship, you could work one of the following business areas:

Global Digital Application Studios (GDAS)

Delivers global application services by hosting both the customer focused dedicated DevSecOps teams aligned to the account structure and transversal development teams working on common application services.

Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI)

Ensures an efficient and resilient state of technology and infrastructure by defining technology strategy roadmap, providing infrastructure architecture capabilities, and operating shared infrastructure services. Provides dedicated operations resources to the DevSecOps teams.

Technology Management & Enablement (TME)

Drives consistency and operational excellence by providing transversal support to the delivery of services. Defines standards, manages global frameworks, and supports operations with globally pooled expertise on several key domains (service management, enterprise architecture, innovation, quality, PMO, and change).

Cybersecurity

Ensures the protection of systems, networks, data, sensitive, and personal information against security breaches by developing and enforcing cybersecurity strategy, policies, and standards. Provides identified cybersecurity resources to the DevSecOps teams.

Office of the CIO (OCIO)

Responsible for developing ability to run IT like a business, by running smooth, efficient and financially-sound operations, with the right skilled and committed people. Manages global IT budget and financials, IT metrics and analytics, sets effective strategies with key suppliers and defines talent strategy. Provides assistance in day-to-day CIO Operations and change within IT.

Global Business Services (GBS)

Provides value-driven business partnering for Deloitte Business Functions & Enabling Areas. Ensures both strategic and operational relationships with Global Business Functions & Enabling Areas. Bears end-to-end accountability for managing relationships, overseeing delivery and operations of business technology services for customers.

Work you'll do:

Throughout the course of the internship, interns work on-site and have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions and receive training customized by our business units. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the technology needs of Deloitte around the globe in an organization of over 300,000 employees and over $46 billion in revenue. The interns will understand first-hand what a career with Deloitte is like and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network.

Additional social activities are planned throughout the internship period to provide opportunity to network with Deloitte professionals.

Interns are expected to adapt to change, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and self-confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and able to work collaboratively. Interns are expected to demonstrate leadership qualities and potential.

Job Responsibilities/Tasks Customer Experience * Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. * Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.). * Develops strong relationships with customers. Operations * Learn from store and pharmacy team members, field leadership, team members and customers/patients * Under the supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Reviews and complies with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct. * Performs duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with Walgreens standard operating procedures for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions. * Assists pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services that are within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns including patient counseling and other health services (i.e. blood pressure, medication therapy management). * Immediately reports prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. * Strictly adheres to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing * Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required. Takes customer to OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products. * Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians. * Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of Company asset protection techniques, and files claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs. * Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance. * Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers. * Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned. Training & Personal Development * Complete required training * Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments. Basic Qualifications * Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program * Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico) * Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours. Preferred Qualifications * Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment. * Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens. * Prefer good math skills so they can fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring and weighing medications.
