As the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial leadership role within the department, focusing on the safety, security, and protection of assets. This role is at the heart of our mission, requiring a proactive leader adept at direct management, strategic planning, and the implementation of risk management strategies. You will ensure operational excellence, personnel development, and the effective coordination of all GSCC Communicator personnel and operations.

About Your Future Team

The team is responsible for supporting emergency and non-emergency events, researching global affairs, incoming call mitigation, event dispatching, and event-driven global notification services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an emergency, the GSCC advises and coordinates Disney enterprise assistance and support by providing technical and advisory assistance for the performance of crucial operational services, the issuance of warnings of risks and hazards, dissemination of employee information, as well as serving as the central communication intake point for Global Security.

A Day in the Life of a GSCC Operations Manager:

In the dynamic and critical role, every day brings new challenges and opportunities to ensure the safety and security of our operations. Your responsibilities will vary, but they are all sought at upholding the highest standards of security and efficiency within the Global Security Control Center (GSCC). Here's what you might do:

• Lead and Direct the GSCC Communicator Team: Take the helm of the GSCC Communicator team, ensuring that every operation is performed with excellence and precision. Your leadership will guide the team in prioritizing security support and responding effectively to the dynamic needs of the Disney enterprise (domestic and International).

• Operational Management and Oversight: Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and training to guarantee round-the-clock coverage. You will be the cornerstone of maintaining operational readiness, ensuring that all personnel are well-prepared and that our security posture is robust and proactive.

• Performance Management and Development: Provide vital feedback, coaching, and counseling to GSCC dispatchers, encouraging an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth. Your efforts in performance management are key to maintaining high department standards.

• Strategic Collaboration: Work in close partnership with the GSCC Business Operations Sr.
  
  Manager and other leadership figures to craft and refine security strategies. Your collaborative efforts will support the broader objectives of GSCC operations and associated projects.

• Training Program Leadership: Champion the GSCC's comprehensive Training program and collaboration with the Senior Manager, who has overarching responsibility for the Training program.
  
  Together, you will enhance and implement a diverse array of training materials and methods. Your innovative approach to education, supported by strategic guidance from senior management, ensures that both new and existing team members are thoroughly prepared to meet the challenges of their roles.

• Technological Stewardship: Ensure that all GSCC systems and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, facilitating seamless operations and rapid response capabilities. Your management of technology resources is crucial to the smooth operation of the department.

• Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and refine operational procedures, training programs, and security strategies. Your ability to adapt and evolve in response to new challenges and changing business needs will ensure the continued effectiveness and relevance of the department.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• +5 years of experience in a Communications, Operations Center and/or equivalent area. Supervisory experience in a security or operations-focused role is highly desired.

• Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead and develop teams.

• Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning and project management capabilities, with a curiosity about adapting to changing business needs.

• Communication: Outstanding presentation skills, capable of engaging with company executives, large groups, and external partners optimally.

• Adaptability: The ability to thrive in both calm and high-pressure situations, making critical decisions swiftly and optimally.

• Technical Proficiency: A comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal security and emergency management systems is preferred.

The hiring range for this position in California is $77,100.00 - $103,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
