The Global Service Center provides important services for the Church and its members throughout the world in customer service, accounting, treasury, and member/leader support. This position is for a full-time senior analyst / supervisor level supervising other Financial Analysts.
In this supervisory role, the incumbent:
(1) handles selection, staffing, performance, and discipline issues;
(2) provides/arranges for employee training;
(3) assigns work;
(4) researches and solves problems
(5) serves on special committees or participates in special projects as assigned.
In addition to supervision, the incumbent will perform significant individual contributor analyst functions, including performing and managing technical projects impacting fixed asset accounting for Church departments and areas. This will require extensive knowledge of the PeopleSoft Fixed Asset module.
Candidates are expected to work regular business hours (Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm). Salary and grade will be determined at the time of hire based on experience, education, and skill.
Duties will include the following:
Stewardship for fixed asset accounting for Church entities using the PeopleSoft Fixed Asset module.
Subject matter expertise.
Processing accounting information including monthly and year-end capitalization, depreciation, retirement, and other complex and difficult processes in an accurate and timely manner.
Providing and accurately analyzing and verifying accounting information for accuracy and completeness and initiating appropriate remedial actions.
Accurately analyzing ledgers, studying the interrelationships of various ledger accounts, and making recommendations for changes in practices and procedures
Training and providing guidance to lower level financial analysts, who then perform competently.
Coordination with Church controllership and related functions such as project management and accounting.
Consulting and advising in a courteous and professional manner.
Success will be measured by demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and analytical skills to maintain fixed asset records in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and Church financial standards.
Expected results will be accomplished by timeliness, accuracy, throughput, and integrity of accounting information.
Candidate must speak, read, and write with a high degree of fluency.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CMA, CPA or MBA preferred.
Seven years of related professional work experience.
Be detail oriented, self-starter.
Demonstrated ability to operate computers in a network environment with demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, business collaboration, and database software.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting. Seasoned judgement and analytical skills.
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
