Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS) is a multi-asset class investing group that sits within the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs. It designs and develops comprehensive investment management solutions customized to meet the investment objectives and relevant constraints of clients. These solutions bring together state-of-the-art techniques for multi-asset portfolio design and implementation and reflect proprietary research and analytics conducted by the GPS team. With investment professionals across the globe, GPS invests or advises on assets for some of the world's leading corporations, sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate would become a member of the Portfolio Management Team within Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS), responsible for the design, management, and communication of multi-asset class portfolios. This role is client-facing and highly analytical, focusing on developing, investing, managing and communicating customized portfolio solutions for clients. Core responsibilities include:

  • Portfolio management with daily supervision of complex client portfolios involving areas such as strategic and implementation issues, asset allocation, investment manager / vehicle selection and oversight, risk/performance management and evaluation, and research on investment management products.

  • Assist in client relationship management involving portfolio and manager review, managing client investment needs and proposing new strategies aimed at enhancing portfolio characteristics.

  • Support in content development involving client and prospect presentation books, request for proposals, and other investment-related analyses.

Other required skills/experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail oriented and meticulous, strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Intelligent, creative, with good problem-solving abilities

  • A self-starter able to work independently and thrive in a team environment

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong interest in the financial markets and a good investment sense/commercial instinct

  • Experience working with corporate pensions or a background in multi-asset class investing / Outsourced Chief Investment Officer preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Job Description: GSAM Compliance is seeking a senior level legal and/or compliance professional to join the US Regulatory Compliance Group within GSAM Compliance. The role will primarily support the Chief Compliance Officers within the Group. The US Regulatory Compliance Group is primarily responsible for Funds that are subject to regulation under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and are organized as open end funds, closed end funds, BDCs, externally managed open-end funds and ETFs. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of the regulatory requirements of the Investment Company Act of 1940. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in building and maintaining the compliance programs for the product lines described above; for assisting with board reporting and other aspects of GSAM's relationship with the Board of Directors on Compliance-related issues; and for assisting with managing the compliance analysts and associates in the Group. The individual will also be assisting in overseeing the activities of GSAM, as the adviser to the Funds, and the other key service providers to the Funds (e.g. fund administrator, transfer agent). The individual will interact with different business lines and control functions, including Portfolio Management, Product Development, Sales, Operations, IT, Legal, Controllers, Fund Services and Product Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in understanding the business models and operational processes underlying the products described above. He or she will be risk focused, and will have excellent judgment, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and project management skills, and will have the ability to work in a very fast paced environment. Attorneys with in-house and/or law firm experience in the Investment Company Act of 1940 a plus.
