We're seeking a future team member for the role of Growth Ventures Operations Lead to join our Growth Ventures, Private Markets/Alternatives team. This role is located in Tribeca, NYC (hybrid).

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Overseeing the operations framework. Establishing and managing the operations and support framework for sponsored funds for both internal and external parties. Defining key tasks and identifying responsible parties and control mechanisms for each in coordination with affiliated and third-arty service providers and functional partners. Developing the operating framework in a manger that is future-proof, leveraging our 'clean slate' starting point and market leading data, software, and AI capabilities to deliver the most effective, efficient, and resilient model that can scale with the business. Developing and implementing metrics to assist with day-to-day management.

  • Establishing and managing service provider relationships. Negotiating agreements and establishing relationships with service providers that may include transfer agents, fund administrators, custodians, prime brokers, lawyers, accountants, and others. Agreeing fees and service level agreements, and acting as a point person to providers in delivering systems and workflow integrations. Establishing a strategy for developing a service provider network that supports scalability and accelerates growth.

  • Supporting platform development. Acting as a product leader and working with product, design, and engineering teams, as well as service providers, to define product requirements for critical features of a new platform, particularly related to the operations pods, fund operations, workflows, and investment lifecycle events. Identifying critical systems and core processes required to deliver an end-to-end investment experience and unlocking opportunities to streamline those processes leveraging data and automation. Overseeing discovery, product development, and testing, as well as post-go live support for servicing and continued enhancements.

  • Building out the core team. Establishing operations and service teams to support a new platform during initial launch and as it scales. Creating an organization structure and operating model that coordinates with firm-wide teams and leverages existing resources. Creating a culture that is relentlessly commercial and client oriented, rewards creativity and entrepreneurship, and fosters a dynamic, execution-driven, and positive environment.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Individual should have at least 15+ years of experience in operations and client service roles

  • Experience in alternative/private market investment products is a must

  • Experience in fund administration, transfer agency, and related services is a must

  • Experience in the wealth segment (e.g., RIAs, broker dealers) is a positive

  • Experience in new business development, including product development, is a plus

  • Being entrepreneurial and self-directed - operate as an owner

  • Being ambitious and driven to deliver market-changing innovations in an accelerated timeline

  • Being growth oriented yet pragmatic, able to balance a compelling vision with execution

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
