We are looking for a data-driven Growth Marketing Intern to support with identifying, sourcing and screening startups globally for our mentorship-driven accelerators. In this role you will help build the next 22 classes of startups, as they grow from early-stage to venture-backed companies this Summer + Fall 2019.

Reporting to the Pipeline Manager, your focus will be on startup pipeline development using marketing-driven skills and tools, at the same time as a relationship-driven approach to cross-functional collaboration for Techstars global startup sourcing events and Techstars affiliate program.

It's basically the most unique opportunity to work at the cross-roads of growth marketing and venture capital, whilst getting exposure to some of the greatest up-and-coming startups in the world. From founders to investors your network is about to amplify, through the power of the network which Techstars has created over the past 11-years.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Qualify inbound leads via web, email, and phone requests from potential startups

  • Coordinate with Program Staff for startup introductions, hand-offs and list building

  • Work with the greater Techstars team to coordinate and support with sourcing events

  • Actively use tools such as Crunchbase, AngelList, LinkedIn to source startups

  • Adhere to Techstars best practices relating to email and social media outreach

  • Operate in a data-driven manner and conduct weekly reports

  • Operate under general supervision, but with a high degree of entrepreneurial spirit, initiative and creativity

Qualifications

  • Currently obtaining Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Marketing or Entrepreneurship major a plus
  • Minimum 15 hours a week, preferably 18 hours in 3 x 6 hour blocks

  • Passion for startups, technology, entrepreneurship and/or venture capital

  • Deep understanding of Techstars products, our competition in the industry and positioning

  • Basic understanding of marketing CRM's, lead management/scoring and email etiquette.

  • Excellent process skills and proven attention to detail through work or life experience

  • Fit the Techstars culture: people-oriented, adaptable, supportive, creative

  • Learner's mindset, strong work ethic, a sense of humor

  • Investment and marketing automation experience a plus
