Acorns is looking for a Growth Designer who can take ads design projects from brief to completion in partnership with our user acquisition team. This person has killer instincts when it comes to designing ads for digital channels, is consumer-centric and has a portfolio that is thoughtful and eye-catching.
This individual must have a unique eye for combining creative and performance, and understand how to reach and convert audiences effectively.
This individual is responsible for producing ads for digital advertising channels such as Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter and Youtube, in the format of videos, graphics, animations, etc.
Previous experience in producing ads in short video and animated format is highly desired.
You will work with a team of highly talented growth marketers, channel experts, social media specialist, designers, and content writers. This role reports to the VP of Growth and is based in Irvine, CA.
Within 1 month, you will:
Introduce yourself to team members, stakeholders and collaborators you will be working with
Familiarize yourself with historical successful digital ads and concepts that resonate with our customers
Develop a deep understanding of Acorns' millennial customers and the type of creatives that appeal to them
Understand the basics of digital channels and success metrics for digital ads
Have produced 5 short, compelling digital ads, with a focus on videos and animations
Be prepared to develop, edit and iterate ads that utilize existing ads footages
Within 6 months, you will:
Work with the acquisition team and set a regular rhythm of producing 3+ digital ads per week
Experiment with different ads concepts, formats and lengths, for different audiences, on various channels
Make a visible impact on key ads metrics through producing winning ads
Collaborate with the acquisition team to create strong concepts and iterate existing ads concepts
Take formal & informal briefs with your own innovative ideas to drive highest performing campaigns
Within 12 months, you will:
Have demonstrated an excellent sense of the best ways to drive conversion on various digital channels
Build strong working collaboration and streamlined process with multiple teams to produce and test digital ads at high velocity
Develop best practice on ads editing techniques to enhance performance across digital ads on various social platforms, as well as extend content across traditional platforms.
Maintain, organize, and archive the digital library of ads assets.
Continually survey and discuss social media, digital and cultural trends and happenings.
Develop a deep understanding of target audiences and channels to design highest performing assets per campaign and execute well for each individual channel
Understand design principles and awareness of latest design trends and new technologies
What you will bring to Acorns:
Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, fine arts, digital design or digital art or equivalent 2 years work experience in digital advertising design
2+ years of experience in digital advertising design required
Experience and knowledge of digital marketing and social channels such as Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, Programmatic/display networks
A strong passion to win and make an impact through testing, learning, and iterating your ads
Proven track record of developing strong relationships
Ability to take feedback and deliver assets in a fast-paced environment
Effectively organize and prioritize workloads to manage the delivery of ads
Strategic and creative thinker who can proactively problem solve
Mastery of Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects skills
Skill in video Post Production highly desired: including editing, color grading, and mastering for delivery across all social media platforms.
Basic animation and motion design skills strongly preferred
Bonus points if you have:
Previous experience in creating digital video ads for Facebook, Youtube, Snapchat etc.
Experience creating popular video content for a millennial audience
