Responsibilities
Responsible to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the psychosocial services for patients of PrairieCare. The group therapist component of the role provides a range of therapeutic services to patients and their families and seeks to enhance the functioning of patients
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provide structured group activities and group therapy
This position may work with children, adolescents, and adults or a combination of both, as assigned
Contributes to the interdisciplinary team the perspective of their unique training and experience in group dynamics
May be asked to meet individually with patients or families as it relates to their role and scope of licensure
Hours: 1.0 FTE - Monday

Qualifications
This position requires a Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a closely related social science or healthcare field.
Current licensure in the State of Minnesota is preferred.
Two years of experience in mental health is preferred
Available to provide coverage for other team members when absent or as the need arises
Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
Skills necessary to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
Ability to make effective clinical and culturally informed decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
After training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients.
