Job Description

The Group Director, Strategy is responsible for serving as the primary day-to-day strategy lead over a group of large accounts or a substantial group of smaller accounts with associated client relationship development, cross-functional team oversight, and strategic oversight. The ideal candidate will have a deep combination of content strategy and channel expertise inclusive of: CRM, rand websites and social.


While there will never be a typical day at Accenture Interactive, we have highlighted a few of your exciting responsibilities:

  • Prepare strategic recommendations, briefings and POVs for clients to help them achieve their business objectives.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (creative, analytics, account, etc.) to develop and manage best in class integrated content strategies and channel plans.

  • Lead the development of a variety of deliverables including, but not limited to: content audits, consumer journey, channel plans, launch plans, competitive and market analysis, conquest strategies, brand architectures,

  • Support new business opportunities including RFIs, RFPs and stand-up presentations

  • Provide thought leadership and team mentorship

YOUR EXPERIENCE: Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years CRM, digital, social and analytical experience developing, deploying, measuring and improving digital CRM strategy

  • Bachelor's degree inarelated field, or equivalent training and/or experience

Accountabilities: * Build an effective, committed and high performing sales team by developing, coaching and mentoring * Define expectations of sales reps and understand required capabilities * Assess existing talent on role profile and identify gaps * Create opportunity to shadow and observe performance and travel to reps within territory * Resolve issues and elevate appropriate issues as needed * Track and manage to production and operational metrics * Recruit, on board and train new sales talent consistent with expectations; leverage network of relationships * Facilitate regular meetings/forums and leverage collaboration tools to connect reps, share knowledge and collect feedback * Execute on a sales distribution strategy that will result in profitable growth and support reps in developing territories and underserved markets * Enhance key broker interaction and deepen key broker relationships to market our products; build network and brand * Leverage market intelligence (i.e., competitive context, trends) to develop business * Analyze book of business to develop and implement selling strategies to drive profitable sales for products within territory * Drive implementation of our business model and execute with consistency * Participate in select large case sales and negotiations * Coach reps on case-level negotiations (assist in the beginning, support once they are seasoned) * Build relationships with other organizational leaders * Act as a change leader; understand degree of change, communicate about it and advocate for it * Set, communicate and achieve sales goals, sales results, and profitability for your assigned territory Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university preferred * 5+ years of Group Benefits sales experience with demonstrated success * 1-3+ year of sales management experience preferred with demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals * Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting critical deadlines * Entrepreneurial and innovative with energy to lead others in achieving the highest standards in sales and service * Manage the overall budget/expense management process for their offices and to align territories, brokers and reps and to manage the overall structure to sell in their particular location * Must have a drive to succeed, a winning attitude and be interested in a career that offers independence, professional growth, and high income potential Sun Life Financial is a leading provider of group insurance benefits in the U.S., helping people protect what they love about their lives.
