Sells and generates leads 100% of the time
Initiates research projects to uncover new potential markets, accounts, etc.
In depth knowledge of current web tools / marketing partners for the Group market.
Keeps current on property specific information on new competition, changes in the market-mix and needs.
Focuses on a variety of the following industries that can be tailored to the expertise of the seller.
Responsible for achieving/exceeding individual group revenue goals.
Travels 10%; attends appropriate trade shows, organizes sales trips.
Assists Director of Sales and Marketing On Property in achieving hotel-specific goals from designated group industries.
Prepares and implements ad-hoc strategic activities in order to assist a specific hotel or destination during their need periods ie: low-occupancy, last-minute cancellations, refurbishments etc
Incorporates marketing opportunities into sales activities when applicable; follows-up with Director of Sales and Marketing for execution.
Generates data, analyzes, and recommends actions on assigned industries in the form of quarterly action plans.
Is considered "expert" of travel needs in assigned industries
Turns over all service related tasks to Sales Coordination and the Group Services team and holds them accountable.
Is an active member in local industry associations, knows colleagues with same role in competitive brands reports back industry trends to the field.
Attends property specific receptions
Prospects annual groups for repeat business
Works with catering team, credit manager and group service department to create synergy
Fully penetrates accounts in effort to generate leads for transient team and DHG hotels in other cities
On-property Sales Manager experience is required
Minimum of 1-2 years Sales Management experience is required.
Exceptional negotiation and selling skills
Must be a true "sales-minded" individual; always looking for new business with a proven record of results
Must possess excellent communication both verbal and written and immediate follow up
Highly-motivated individual inspired to exceed industry and territory results through specific and tangible actions
Ability to work independently (Excellent time-management and organizational skills).
Applicants must be comfortable making sales presentations and have exceptional, dynamic and memorable public speaking skills.
Strong computer skills are a must to include: PPT, Excel and Word.
This position generally works Monday to Friday but the ability to work on occasional evenings and weekends is essential.
Ability to work within and manage a designated budget
Experience includes heavy prospecting through a hotel re-positioning or lesser known brand
