Job Summary
As a Group Sales Manager, you will contribute to the operation's success by strategically selling the hotel including conferences, meetings, and special events. You will offer personalized solutions for our clients and work with our operations team to make sure we exceed our client's expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategically sells hotel rooms, conference center space, including related services, and food and beverage needs to individuals, groups and companies.
Develop and manage sales strategies to target groups of up to 32 rooms on peak in all markets.
Efficiently handle express leads for small groups with short booking windows, ensuring a streamlined and responsive sales process.
Collaborate with GM to create and execute sales plans that maximize revenue and occupancy.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, providing exceptional service and identifying potential opportunities for growth.
Achieve/exceeds annual budgeted sales goals by performing direct sales solicitation while developing new accounts and maintaining existing accounts; managing account details and preparing reports; responding to all telephone and in-person inquiries to promote the Hotel and Conference Center
Maintain positive customer relationships and ensure timely responses to all inquiries for space or service needs
Confer with customers in all phases of their meetings/conferences to ensure complete customer satisfaction
Effectively plan and communicate to all departments the expressed needs of the customer
Act as a liaison between the university and all customers
Maintain a tracking system for all potential external customers
Ensure that all appropriate communication for upcoming business is complete and distributed in a timely manner to the management team
Attend and host daily/weekly/monthly meetings that are scheduled and provide input and necessary documentation needed
Oversee and conduct sales calls, prospecting and meet all quotas to ensure that the quarterly and annual goals are met
Work closely with the team to roll out annual marketing plan
Manage sales budget and the departmental expenses
Work with the General Manager and Finance to effectively present monthly, quarterly and annual metric reports
Complete knowledge of the Property Management System
Develop quarterly action plans to improve sales efforts and overall yearly initiatives
Engage in educational and team building activities to strengthen personal value and departmental relationships
Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook
Ensures Platinum Service culture is executed throughout operation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of three years of sales experience
Keep abreast of industry trends and share information with all staff
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and juggle many tasks simultaneously
Superior quantitative, oral and written communications and problem-solving/strategizing skills
Excellent overall computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Proactive mindset to anticipate and support changes in our business
Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
