The Group Sales Associate (GSA) focuses on selling onPeak's group booking services with the goal of increasing participation and revenue for assigned events. The GSA analyzes each event and sets a sales strategy to maximize retention of current groups that book with onPeak and for capturing groups that have not used our services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate proactive group sales strategies in conjunction with Client, Account Executive, and Marketing

  • Oversee the booking of VIP exhibitors and attendee groups

  • Positively impact event performance through scheduled and regular emails and phone outreach

  • Provide analysis and insights on outreach results to event team and clients

  • Provide group contacts with education on how to use Compass online block management tools

  • Work with client and Account Executive to develop the onsite service plan for select events

  • Travel to select events to resolve onsite group needs, facilitate group bookings for future years, and related services as necessary

  • Manage suite and meeting space requests

  • Provide post-event reporting and recommendations for improving service and capture of groups

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills, sales, travel or hotel reservations experience is helpful

  • Comfortable with interacting with all kinds of people and asking for their business

  • Able to work effectively within a team

  • Aptitude with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Ability to learn and use web-based and internal applications related to job responsibilities

  • Proactive, positive approach to problem solving

  • College Degree or 3 years of experience preferred

  • Able to travel 10-15%

Morgan focuses on U.S. companies (private or public) with revenues typically in excess of $750 million, which require both traditional commercial banking services in addition to investment banking products. The Midwest Banking Group is part of Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries within the Commercial Bank. The Midwest team focuses on companies located in Midwestern states (Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio) and is responsible for delivering J.P. Morgan's full suite of products to private and public companies. We advise clients and prospects as they seek to raise debt and equity capital in the public, private and syndicated bank market. The team works closely with Investment Banking Coverage Partners and Product Specialists (Syndications, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, M&A, etc), in addition to Credit Underwriters and Product Specialists from Treasury Services, International Banking, Investment Management & Private Banking. The position is primarily geared to providing leadership to deal teams and accountability for pitch book preparation and transaction execution, while ensuring coordination among analysts, senior deal team members, and credit underwriting. As a member of the team, the position plays an integral part to help gain, manage and maintain client relationships in the Midwest region in close coordination with senior bankers. * Ideal Candidate will have 3-5 years of Corporate Banking or Investment Banking experience with a strong corporate finance / credit background * Candidate that has attended a Commercial or Investment Banking Analyst Training Program preferred * Collaborate with credit underwriting team on analysis, structuring and documentation of credit requests and must have strong credit, analytical, and modeling skills * Knowledge of Investment Banking products and preferably execution experience. Position will provide support around capital structure analysis concentrating on syndicated leveraged finance transactions, interest rate and currency hedging, high grade and high yield bonds, and equity capital markets * Work with Relationship Managers to help generate new revenue opportunities either from prospects or existing clients * Excellent problem solving, oral and written communication skills * The ability to be a highly motivated, productive team player. Partnership skills are essential as work will often overlap with industry partners, product partners and investment banking teams * Highly organized, detail-oriented and proactive * Outstanding ethics, integrity and judgment * Superior Excel and Power Point skills * Excellent reviews and referrals from your current manager and peers * Series 79 and 63 licensed (or must obtain) * Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. The final level of the position will be determined at the time of an offer.
