About the role

A Group Resource Manager is responsible for increasing efficiency across a group of accounts through effective management of staff resourcing. This role will liaise with directors, discipline leads, finance, senior management, talent and the resource management team to effectively schedule and assign resources to facilitate the delivery of work. You'll be involved at all stages of the delivery process, including:

Some of the things we'd like you to do:

  • Work with team leads to continually assess account needs, and develop a resource plan to ensure we continue to deliver best-in-class work and consistently meet deadlines set by our clients - leading the reallocation of resource where necessary.

  • Monitor group/region bandwidth and maximize utilization across team resources.

  • Lead weekly allocation meetings to keep up-to-date with resource needs and make recommendations based on budgets, timelines and clear knowledge and understanding of skill sets across all departments.

  • Partner with other Resource Managers on a daily and weekly basis for intra-group and intra-office resource sharing.

  • Collaborate with managers and team leads to assist in the development (and use) of a resource briefing framework; ensuring those carrying out the work understand the objectives set and know what it will take to meet them.

  • Check-in on resource and line managers as work progresses; ensuring the resource plan continues to satisfy team needs and to help resolve any obstacles to completion that may arise along the way.

  • Escalate to the appropriate department stakeholders any information related to: group rotations, retention/employee relations, increase or decrease in workflow and projected staffing needs.

  • Partner with Recruitment to identify when internal resources are not available to fit talent needs, prepare staff or freelance position requests.

  • Maintain an up to date allocations database for group/region, flagging any resource bandwidth to appropriate stakeholders.

  • This person will work as a liaison and confidante; both within the client teams as well as at an executive level, therefore, the ability to maintain confidential information is crucial.

  • Assess the training needs of employees on an ongoing basis; ensuring the Talent team is briefed on the needs, and encouraging employees to seek out training or development should their capabilities fall short of what they're required to do.

  • Work with line managers and mentors to identify and assess team member's interests and development areas, and look to assign them to work and/or training to support their career path.

  • May additionally act in the capacity of career advisor, as individuals may seek out the Resource Manager's advice and input.

  • Maintain, analyze and publish the following: Utilization & billability reports, capacity plan by region, trends and forecast summaries, timesheet compliance and other adhoc reports as requested.

A bit about yourself:

  • Extremely well organized, process-driven and dedicated, with an outgoing personality and can-do attitude. Specifically:

  • Experience in a digital agency environment, supporting the delivery of digital campaigns that were delivered on time, on budget and which met client expectations. Must possess a strong understanding of how digital media campaigns are delivered and staffed.

  • A strong verbal and written communicator, able to build strong relationships with people at all levels of seniority

  • Assertive conflictresolution and problemsolving skills.

  • An ability to bring the best out of people; helping them develop their capabilities and improve their confidence, whilst motivating them to succeed and helping them maintain focus when necessary.

  • A strong work ethic; able to work under pressure and juggle multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines and deliver results.
