Responsibilities

Makes routine risk and pricing decisions to achieve acceptable loss ratios for Group Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Dependent Life, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and all Supplemental/ Voluntary Products. Exercises sound judgment to make exceptions to standard underwriting policies and shares judgments with superiors.

  • Develops, negotiates, and determines non-alternate funded pricing arrangements within approval authority.

  • Provides case level support to the underwriting team as needed.

  • Provides ongoing technical support to the sales team to enable them to accurately present and sell rates for new business and renewals.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • This role will be positioned in our Strongsville office, but will be moving to our Cleveland office in 2020.

Group Life & Disability Underwriter I

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.

  • 1 year of experience in Group Life and Disability underwriting techniques preferred or alternatively, experience in group life/disability insurance claims or related operations that translate well to risk management.

  • Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation preferred (or working towards designation).

  • Knowledge and underwriting expertise relative to risk assessment and pricing of Group Insurance products.

  • Intermediate underwriting systems and MS Office Skills, including MS Access and workflow applications such as OnBase.

Group Life & Disability Underwriter II

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.

  • 3 years experience as a Group Life & Disability Underwriter.

  • Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation preferred (or continued progress towards designation).

  • In depth knowledge and underwriting expertise relative to risk assessment and pricing of Group Life and Disability products.

  • Intermediate underwriting systems and Microsoft Office skills (including Access) and workflow applications such as OnBase.

Sr. Group Life & Disability Underwriter

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.

  • 5 years experience as a Group Life & Disability Underwriter.

  • Experience collaborating with internal sales and external broker distribution partners.

  • Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation strongly preferred (or substantial progress towards designation).

  • In depth knowledge and advanced underwriting expertise relative to risk assessment and pricing of group life and disability insurance products.

  • Intermediate to advanced underwriting systems and MS Office Skills, including MS Access and workflow applications such as OnBase

Cintas provides a variety of products to a large customer base each day. Those products include uniform garments, carpeted floor mats, heavy duty rubber floor mats, dust mops, shop towels, aprons, hand soap products and air freshener supplies. To load and unload the products results in repeated bending, stretching, twisting and lifting as well as standing for 3 to 7 hours a day. Responsibilities include driving the trucks around the lot and loading and unloading the uniform garments and/or additional facility services products into and out of company trucks. Daily accuracy of products loaded and unloaded is necessary for inventory control and accountability.
