Job Description: Summary
Handles day to day operations of team or teams. Constantly monitoring team, fill rates, errors, corrections and close out of daily functions. Uses judgment requiring location and storage of items, proper packaging, methods of movement of materials, and release of materials. Ability to work independently as required. Leads, trains, directs others as required. Performs administrative and physical tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing and supplying materials (raw, work-in-process, and finished goods), parts, and supplies, to operators, work stations and distribution center. Uses hand/or electric trucks including forklifts, Turret Trucks, Order Picker and other motorized vehicles requiring licenses and operations at height of 40 feet. Extensively uses material tracking system(s). Keeps accurate logs (both written and electronic version). Is knowledgeable of receiving and/or distribution function, packaging equipment and UPS systems. Maintains operating procedures and conducts training. Effectively works and leads in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives. Makes effective decisions relative to position requirements, inventories. High school diploma or equivalent and minimum is required.
Must have 3+ years' experience in a distribution/warehouse center environment with knowledge of warehouse inventory management computer systems and material handling equipment.
Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
Experience with SAP and or equivalent is required.
Must be able to lift/move 5-25 lbs. continuously, 25-60 lbs. frequently.
Previous leadership experience leading 5-15 associates in a warehouse environment is preferred.
Experience with Hazardous shipping regulations, IATA and DOT requirements
Must be able to demonstrate an ability to enter data on material tracking systems or other computerized programs as required, as well as, maintain records and logs.
Must be able to pay continuous attention to detailed operations requiring some diversification in approach to fairly routine processes.
Experience loading and unloading of trucks.
Proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and working knowledge of a Windows environment is required.
Ability to safely operate all required equipment and use packaging equipment, UPS and/or computer systems is required.
