Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service by promptly responding to member needs and concerns

  • Develops positive relationships with class participants by teaching a variety of challenging and entertaining group fitness classes

  • Educates class participants on correct form and alternate moves during the fitness routine

  • Attentively listens to members, answers questions, and engages in conversation before and after classes

  • Provides current music ensuring appropriate language

  • Cleans and organizes studio after each group fitness class


  • Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • One-year fitness instructor work experience

Licenses / Certifications/ Registrations

  • CPR/AED certification required within the first 3 months of hire

  • Group Exercise Certification (minimum of one)

  • National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM)

  • American Council of Exercise (ACE)

  • American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA)

  • Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA)

Youth Enrichment League instructors make a difference by bringing their "Can- Do," enthusiastic attitude and our robust curriculum to school children each and every day. Our part time After School Lego Instructors lead children in grades K-5 through different LEGO projects each class. Students use these projects to investigate basic engineering concepts. Instructors should be looking for part time work, enjoy working with children and have reliable transportation. SCHEDULE: * This is a part time job. Teachers typically teach 3 - 7 classes per week, in one hour blocks. EXPERIENCE: * We are primarily interested in dynamic personalities who want to make a difference in a child's day. * Experience working with children is preferred. * Experience examples include: youth summer camps, youth coaching, Sunday School instruction, baby sitting, having children of your own, etc. SUPPLIES & TRAINING: * Instructors are given all the supplies they need to flourish in an after school setting. Supplies typically are one medium to large suitcase and one small duffel bag of materials. Supplies vary depending on subject and course. * Paid training includes an orientation of our policies and procedures as well as class specific training. * Training pay rate is $10 per hour. {YEL!} Instructors will have the following responsibilities: * Be EARLY - Instructors are required and paid to arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled class time. * Be PREPARED - {YEL!} provides pre-packaged lessons. Instructors prepare for each lesson. * Be SAFE - {YEL!} instructors follow our safety guidelines as well as school safety guidelines. * Be FRIENDLY - A smile and a healthy dose of enthusiasm go a long way. * Be ENGAGING - {YEL!} instructors engage students to THINK, LEARN and * PLAY WELL each and every class. {YEL!} Instructors must possess the following qualifications: * Availability during weekday after school hours (2:00PM - 5:00PM). * A reliable vehicle. * A valid Drivers License and ability to transport and store supplies needed to teach class. * A sincere desire to make a big impact on children's lives. * Ability to organize and implement pre-packaged lesson plans.
