The Group Facilitator/Counselor provides therapy services and clinical interventions that are sensitive to the individualize needs of the clients, client groups and families.
Provides therapy services to individual clients, client groups and families.
Participates in the development of therapy services and programs with other clinical and program team members.
Provides therapy services based in the application of integrative treatment modalities of mental health and addictive disorders.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding and application of systems concepts, theories and techniques that are foundational to the practice of the specific therapy.
Understands and effectively applies clinical interventions in a way that is sensitive to individualized special needs of clients.
Demonstrates the ability to set appropriate boundaries, defuse intense and chaotic situations to enhance the safety of all involved, manage issues.
Demonstrates an understanding of the medical and physiological aspects of chemical dependency, eating disorders, process additions and co-occurring disorders and the application of evidenced based treatment interventions.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the principles and traditions of 12 step recovery and/or other recognized models and the ability to utilize these principles as part of therapy and treatment.
Demonstrates ability to function as a member of and in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to develop services and assist with and support achievement of positive results for clients
Collaborates effectively with other therapists, medical consultants, dieticians, nutritionists, sexual addiction consultants for clients served as part of eating disorder or addiction programs.
Maintains timely and thorough documentation of client treatment, activities and outcomes.
Practices in a manner that is consistent with legal, ethical and safety standards as delineated by the organization, licensure boards and local, state and federal law.
Collaborates with Program Directors and Quality Assurance Management to develop and maintain all safety policies, procedures and protocols pertaining to therapy and treatment.
Collaborates with other therapist, clinical and medical staff in the effective continuing care planning and referrals for an appropriate continuum of care, in accordance with established policies and procedures, scope of licensure and professional practice.

High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Certified Addictions Specialist (CAS) or Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) or Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) or equivalent required.
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical, substance abuse or mental health work experience.
Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of addiction, mental illness and related issues.
Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations.
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
Proficient computer skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working with clients with addiction and or co-occurring disorders preferred.
CPR/First Aid Certification is required for this position. If not CPR/First Aid certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within the state mandated time frame after first day of employment.
