The Group Exercise Instructor (GEI) directly impacts member retention by providing a positive studio experience. This is accomplished through rapport, thoughtful group coaching and effective management of all studio logistics.

The Group Exercise Instructor role achieves success through embodying our core competencies (Create the TSI Environment, Build a High Performing Team, Achieve Measurable Results).

Create the TSI Environment

Models the core attributes of a successful employee with the utmost integrity, lives the mission and empowers others to do the same; focused on building meaningful relationships with members, their kids and team members.

Responsibilities include:

  • Modeling and promoting the 4 Clubhouse Rules.

  • Adhering to all TSI policies and procedures including, but not limited to timeliness, codes of conduct, dress and timekeeping.

  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting returning participants and always welcoming new participants.

  • Ensure class coverage when unavailable to teach.

Build a High Performing Team

Actively facilitates self and team member development; constantly seeking new ways to build skills and competency; elevates the brand experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching group exercises classes that are safe, effective, fun, and motivating for members.

  • Ensuring the studio is free of clutter.

  • Choosing music selections that are appropriate for the class format.

  • Ensuring all necessary equipment is present in the group exercise studio and notify the manager if additional supplies or equipment are required.

  • Responding to member feedback with timeliness.

Achieve Measurable Results

Meets and exceeds company goals and metrics surrounding employees and members; never satisfied with the status quo.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining appropriate certifications for class delivery.

  • Attending regular club meetings to understand environmental needs.

  • Actively promoting class participation.


Required Skills and Experience

  • TSI approved certification for any class being taught.

  • AED/CPR Certification.

  • Physical demands include ability to walk through all areas of clubs, repetitive squatting, bending and lifting (e.g., 40 60 lbs.), restacking of weights, moving of equipment as necessary and ability to demonstrate other exercise movements as part of a personal fitness workout.

We build, test, and grow new professional learning programs focused on in-demand knowledge and skills, such as data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), entrepreneurship, and cloud computing. </p><p>We are looking for an experienced practitioner who has knowledge, skills and tools used in the IoT field and can energize and inspire a group of 20-30 high school students in two two-week experiential summer camps at Northeastern's Boston campus. Ideal candidates can design creative Internet of Things (IoT) based engineering projects to address real-world problems. This role is for the second session- July 22-August 2. The hours are from 9 am - 5 pm Monday-Friday. </p><p>Students will be exposed to concepts of IoT and simulate some of the real-world experiences of an IoT designer through challenging exercises and projects. </p><p><br></p><p>We will provide you with the following resources to prepare you to fully leverage your expertise and succeed as an instructor: </p><ul> <li>Our pre-built course curriculum, including content </li> <li>Instructor training that will equip you with strategies to maximize student learning in this model;</li> <li>Daily support from the Level team<br><br> </li> </ul><p>Teaching: </p><p>Electronics : 20% </p><p>Prototyping: 15% </p><p>Programming: 25% </p><p>Data Analytics: 15%</p><p>Conceptualization Execution: </p><p>Planning/trial error testing/brainstorming/project implementation : 25%</p><p><br></p><p>This is an in-person role, 40 hours a week. Prior to the start of the camp, you will receive training on the curriculum and guidance with instruction. The summer camp will include three off-site field trips to IoT companies. </p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p> Please consider applying for this role if you: </p><ul> <li>2+ years of experience teaching technology to middle/high school or college students </li> <li>1-2 years of experience in Internet of Things (IoT) </li> <li>Hands on experience using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, App Inventor and basic electronic components, including sensors, buttons, and resistors. </li> <li>Are adept with C, Python, and JavaScript. </li> <li>Skilled in data management. </li> <li>Has experience working in a fast-paced environment </li> <li>Preferred familiarity and experience with Design Thinking. </li> <li>Is enthusiastic about technology and helping high school students explore IoT and all its possibilities;</li> </ul><p><br></p><p><em>You will be required to have a background check.
