M&T Insurance Agency is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, where the company was founded in 1955. The agency maintains six offices throughout the Northeastern United States and the Mid-Atlantic.
Responsible for conducting an analysis to identify client needs and direct selling of Group Benefits to new and existing clients (e.g. life and health insurance, including disability and long term care).
Lead consulting efforts with client to identify their needs for Group Benefits products and services; work with the Account Executive and/or Underwriting to negotiate opportunities with product partners and identify the best deal for the client.
Work to prospect opportunities to sell Group Benefits products/services to current and potential clients in the marketplace.
Establish new relationships with key stakeholders to partner on new business opportunities to sell Group Benefits products/services.
Build and maintain internal Bank referral sources for the development of new business; identify cross-sell opportunities.
Research policies from insurers; conduct peer review of deals if appropriate.
Keep abreast of new products and trends in the insurance market.
Serve as primary referral source for Commercial Relationship Managers.
Evaluate business opportunities and develop a business plan with rules (including group size, business decision, Property &Casualty (P&C) Producer, Banker and region) to accurately assign all prospects to an owner.
Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 years' proven sales experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 years'proven sales experience
