This is a PT position (20 hours a week).

Purpose:

Assists the Maintenance Department to ensure that the facility is safe, attractive and well maintained.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Relevant work experience (2 plus years preferred).

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and general public.

  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

  • Must have basic reporting and organizational skills.

  • Must be capable of maintaining proper attendance.

Essential Functions:

  • Care for the routine maintenance needs of the facility and its residents as if they were your own home and family.

  • Assist the Administrator with fire and life safety training and drills.

  • Respond to resident/Administrator/staff requests for maintenance through maintenance reports and log system.

  • Ensure 24-hour repair/response time for all daily maintenance requests.

  • Minor repairs.

  • Facility must be mechanically sound, safe, and well maintained. Interiors must be neat, paint and wall coverings clean, sound and chip/scratch free. Maintenance Director will have a keen sense of detail with regard to these items. Patching, painting and repair will be a major part of the maintenance program as well as carpet/floor care and maintenance.

  • Grounds, building exterior and interior, signage are maintained year-round. Beds and lawns will be weeded and trimmed. Season foliage is also part of exterior maintenance plan.

Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the TT3 will: * Collect topography survey data, prepare survey notes, layout and stake construction projects. * Operate survey instruments; including Total Stations, GPS/RTK rovers and Levels. * Collaborate with survey crew team leaders for various support tasks. * Operate a computer and software to produce survey data. * Operation, maintain and calibrate survey equipment. * Operate hand and power tools weighing up to 20 pounds. Note: This is an in-training position that offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the Transportation Technician field, and achieve the goal class of a Transportation Technician 3. Candidates will be considered as a Transportation Technician 2 or 3, depending on their qualifications. The salary levels for each are: Transportation Technician 2: $47,568- $64,008 Transportation Technician 3: $53,904- $72,432 Required qualifications include at least one of the following: * Two (2) years of experience performing semi-skilled technical engineering work as a Transportation Technician 2 or equivalent education and/or experience. * A Bachelor's degree in Engineering. * An Associate's in Civil Engineering/Surveying. * Certification as an Engineer-in-Training. * Certification as a Land Surveyor-in-Training. In addition to one of the above, candidates are also required to have: * Basic knowledge of principles and practices of highway surveying and engineering. * Skills to perform calculations and basic level highway design. * Knowledge and skills relating to the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of survey equipment. * Knowledge of engineering and surveying software used for the development of complex transportation projects in the office and in the field. * Skills to operate a computer and software to produce survey data. * Ability to maneuver over difficult terrain to perform surveying work. * Ability to place, move and manipulate varies materials weighing up to 50lbs. * Flexibility to adjust work schedule to coincide with contractor activities as needed, including nights and weekends. * Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. * A valid drivers' license. Preferred qualifications include: * ATA in Civil Engineering/Surveying or Land Surveyor-in-Training. * A Professional Land Surveyor License.
