The Boar's Head Resort is seeking a full-time and seasonal Groundskeeper! The Grounds team maintain the Hotel and Sports Club landscaping and surrounding areas. As a 4 Diamond Resort, we take pride in the maintenance of our greenery as a Groundskeeper you will play an integral role in the upkeep and preservation of our land.


  • Cut lawns, plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs

  • Water lawn and shrubs

  • Maintaining trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls

  • Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs

  • Rake and bag leaves

  • Repair fences, gates, walls, and walks

  • Clean grounds and remove litter

  • Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned


  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

  • Willing to learn how to operate maintenance equipment

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • General knowledge of landscaping

  • Must be able to operate and drive a golf cart

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Manages the grounds services provided at a cemetery or funeral home location(s). Performs all grounds keeping and maintenance matters on the properties and maintains the overall appearance of a cemetery, mausoleum or funeral home location. Specific Responsibilities * Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs, tends flower beds and regularly inspects assigned work areas to insure proper standards are maintained. * Operates lawn and grounds equipment including push and power mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers and other related power equipment. * Removes debris and trash from grounds. May include turning down vases and removing wilted flowers * Participates on teams in openings and closings for interments, entombments and inurnments. May perform disinterment. * May determine the location and layout of individual graves with assistance, complying with Company Interment Verification procedures. * May perform minor repairs to the cemetery and / or building systems. * May perform some of the duties associated with cremations such as maintaining inventory and complying with federal and state cremation regulations. * Observe safety rules and ensure compliance with the operating procedures of corporate, federal, state and local regulations, including OSHA regulations and Safety and Environmental guidelines. * May assist in moving and installing burial vaults. * Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements & Qualifications EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: * High school education or equivalent Experience: * Minimum 6 months relevant experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment, including, but not limited to, a shovel, pick, rake, sledge hammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer and leaf blower * Ability to accurately use measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, yard stick, etc.) * Ability to communicate effectively with fellow associates, contractor personnel and client families * Ability to operate equipment in a safe and careful manner * Ability to effectively work with others to accomplish tasks * Ability to work in extreme weather conditions * Basic computer skills to enable retrieving and responding to email communications SCI Overview Who we are.
