COMPENSATION: $32,630 - $50,199 - Based on Verifiable Experience

POSITION GOAL:
To maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Same as the qualification of a custodian.
Must be flexible for shift/schedule changes based on the needs of the district. Management will notify employee(s) affected at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance, except in the case of an emergency.
The employee must be able to lift, push and/or move up to 50 pounds. This job requires repetitive stooping, twisting and bending and requires extensive standing and walking. He/she must also be able to work in extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions.
Physical ability to perform the duties listed below.
Ability to read basic operating instructions.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Acceptable Criminal Background Report and no entries on Child Abuse Registry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities related to the job function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
Good knowledge of the safe operation of a motor vehicle.
Ability to work without close supervision.
Ability to make minor repairs on all ground support equipment.
Must be able to operate all district grounds equipment.
Must have the ability to take over courier position when necessary.
Must make deliveries from school to school as needed.
Performs grounds keeping jobs such as cutting grass, tree trimming and the like, as necessary to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive manner.
Responsible for preparation/maintenance of athletic fields as required.
Shovels, plows, and/or sands sidewalks, driveways, parking areas after snowfalls and throughout freezing weather.
Shall perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL:
This position in Colonial School District is considered an Essential Personnel position. Essential Personnel are required to be at work for emergencies during and outside of the scheduled workday, including weekends and holidays for duties including but not limited to:
Snow removal
Flooding in the building(s)
Response to alarms
Water damage after a storm
If, for some reason, the district closes or opens on an altered schedule, regardless of the message communicated by the District, you are expected to report to work on time or at the time stated by your supervisor.
