As a Custodian Services Associate, you will clean and maintain the public spaces including breezeways, sidewalks, amenity areas, and compactors/dumpsters of a multimillion dollar, multifamily apartment home community.

  • Do whatever it takes to keep our common areas in tip-top shape (picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks, pressure washing breezeways, etc.)

SUMMARY OF POSITION This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance of airport grounds, facilities, airfield infrastructure and equipment. Primary duties include the coordination, supervision and completion of maintenance activities performed on the airport grounds. Additional responsibilities include tasks related to airport operational safety and environmental protection programs. This position supervises other maintenance employees. Essential Functions/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Coordinates, supervises and performs maintenance activities on airfield grounds, pavements, lighting and signage, fencing and gates, fuel farm, airport maintenance facility and other equipment. * Supervises personnel and work performed by contractors. Supervisory duties include instructing, assigning, scheduling, monitoring, reviewing and planning work of others. * Communicates with the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) when duties require access to the movement area (taxiways & runway) and operates vehicles and equipment in a safe manner. * Removes foreign object debris (FOD) from the Air Operations Area (AOA) and other areas of the airport. * Performs grounds maintenance, i.e., mowing, weed eating, edging, blowing, pruning, planting, trimming, and sodding. * Performs painting, cleaning maintenance and repair of airport property, structures, and facilities, i.e., gates, fences, flood lights, airfield lighting, signage and buildings. * Conducts airfield self-inspections and implement day-to-day activities of the Pavement Management Plan (PMP). * Performs day-to-day activities outlined in the airports Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (WHMP). * Performs day-to-day activities outlined in the airports Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention and Countermeasure Control Plan (SPCC). * Ensures compliance with airport safety rules and regulations as well as various plans such as SICP, SWPPP, SPCC, WHMP and misc. LOAs. * Prepares a variety of written reports that may include time sheets, employee schedules, maintenance project updates, inventories, self-inspection forms, p-card statements, wildlife and storm water reports. * Purchases tools, supplies and equipment necessary for duties and responsibilities. * Responds to operational and aircraft emergencies. * Issues Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) when necessary. * Responds to customer inquiries concerning airport operations and maintenance. * Acts as airport representative during weekends and holidays. * Assists with budget planning and preparation. * Operates equipment and performs pest control, fertilization and weed control. * Assists in the review of maintenance and operational procedures. * Perform other related work as required. * Comply with all written City policies and procedures. * Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in City and department attendance policies and procedures. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND BEHAVIORS * Requires the skill to work independent of regular supervision. * Requires the skill to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form. * Requires the skill to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data and/or information using established criteria. Includes exercise of discretion in determining actual or probable consequences, and in referencing such evaluation to identify and select alternatives. * Requires the skill to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, materials, pyrotechnics and firearms used in performing essential functions. * Requires the skill to utilize a variety of advisory data and information, such as FAA advisory circulars, the airports Pavement Management Plan, WHMP, SICP, SWPPP, SPCC, rules and regulations, City ordinances, codes and policy manuals. * Requires the skill to use an air band radio and communicate with the air traffic control tower when duties must be performed on taxiways and runways. * Requires the skill to understand airport operations and schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact to airport operations. * Requires skill to operate a vehicle on aircraft parking aprons, taxiways and runways in a safe manner. * Requires the skill to calculate decimals and percentages; perform mathematical operations with fractions; compute discount, interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion; skill to calculate surface areas, volumes, weights, and measures. * Requires the ability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership. Required Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED; three (3) years of progressively responsible experience maintaining pavements, turf, electrical systems and/or facilities, plus 2 years of supervisory experience or a combination of vocational/technical training and experience. Valid Class C Driver's License. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE) credential highly desirable. Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Must pass a drug screen, driving record check, and background check. Must have a valid Texas Class C driver's license. Physical Demands/Supplemental PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position requires frequent using one's hands to touch, handle or feel objects; reaching with hands and arms; talking and hearing. Following abilities may be required between one and two-thirds of on-the-job time: lifting and / or exerting force up to fifty (50) pounds, standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing. Special vision requirements include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job does require exposure to certain environmental conditions. Tasks may require frequent exposure to: working near moving mechanical parts; and outdoor weather conditions. Occasional exposure may be required to: wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold or heat.
