The primary purpose of the position is to assist in the area of grounds keeping of the Lonnie Poole Golf Course, including but not limited to: * Landscaping and Sodding * Applying fertilizer and pesticides on and around the course under the direct supervision of an employee who is licensed in Ornamental & Turf Pest Control * Cutting grass on the tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes and greens * Golf course upkeep * Sprinkler system maintenance, fencing and tree trimming Equipment used includes but not limited to walking and riding mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools. High School Diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance frequently. Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities and assignments according to work schedule. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in outside conditions, and perform strenuous physical labor.

Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the public.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to Join our Pack as a Fine Dining & Catering Lead Cook (State Club & Lonnie Pool Terrace). Successful candidates will work with the chef and co-workers in a high volume food service environment. Essential job duties include: • Made to order and small batch cooking in a high volume food service environment while maintaining high quality standards. • Follow standardized recipes to ensure food quality, appearance and taste. • Perform specialty tasks such as display station set up and service, enhanced garnishing, recipe development, and event meal assistance. • May work as a grill cook and cook to order menu items. • Perform necessary cleaning of utensils, work space, tables, shelves, and equipment • Transport cooked foods to hotboxes and may also help set up serving line. • Supply/support front of the house operations with backup food to ensure no lag time between changing out food items. • Provide leadership and direction to other temporary staff. • Maintain Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better. • Other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met. Position may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary. There is a State of NC mandatory 32-day break at the end of 11 months. NC State Dining is a department within the Campus Enterprises Division, which is NC State’s Division for Retail and Hospitality Services — NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Trademark Licensing, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), Rave! Event Services and the Wolfpack One Card Services. Each unit shares a common goal: deliver quality and efficient services with dedicated financial support for student activity and scholarships. • High School Diploma or equivalency; • Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered. • At least 1 year of experience in a cook or prep cook position or culinary education required. • Experience with fine dining plate presentation. • Short order and high volume location. • Advanced display cooking skills required. • Equipment knowledge, knife skill, measurements and knowledge of cooking methods and food safety • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers. • Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions. • Ability to lead and direct other employees. • Knowledge of equipment, cooking methods, measurements and food safety. • Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations. • Excellence in completing all tasks. • Requires bending, twisting, pulling and pushing. Because of the nature of a food service operations and working in a kitchen, you must be able to work in extremely hot and cold conditions. • Must be able to lift up to 60 lb with or without reasonable accommodation. • Will routinely handle sharp items such as knives and slicer blades as well as be around hot food items, food pans, ovens, fryers, steam tables, grills.
