We are currently seeking a Vegetation Groundperson to join our team.

Essential Functions

  • Uses a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees.

  • Gathers brush and feed brush into wood chipper.

  • Applies chemical herbicide to right-of-way, following brush removal

  • Utilizes hose and spray nozzle from truck mounted spray equipment which includes tank, pump, hose reel, 200 feet of inch hose, or utilizes back-pack to treat remote areas.

  • Services truck, chipper, and equipment, maintaining them in neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.

  • Assists senior spray person in mixing herbicide in holding tank.

  • Works around hazardous equipment.

  • Works around excessive noise from machines, chain saws, wood chipper, with hearing protection.

  • Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature, i.e., irritating plants, biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.

  • Works on unlevel ground.

  • Works around falling limbs with protection.

Minimum Requirements

  • Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to wear necessary PPE as necessary.

  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.

  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.

  • Must be able to traverse various terrains.

  • Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.

  • Must be able to communicate with others.

  • Must be able to maintain attention during dangerous tasks.

  • Must be able to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis, and up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.

  • Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day. Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.

  • Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the appropriate equipment and tools.

  • Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.

  • Must have transportation to and from the startup location.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

  • Must pass a background check.

  • Must have valid Driver License.

  • Must pay union dues.

Join the technology company that's transforming the future of mobility today. About this Position We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Manager. This position is located in Warren, Ohio. The Plant Manager is the senior-most manufacturing position in a single business unit for this global manufacturing organization. The position includes direct responsibility for the management and performance of Aptiv's Metal Stamping Plant in Warren, Ohio. The Manufacturing General Supervisor, Maintenance General Supervisor, Site Safety Manager, Quality General Supervisor, Production Control General Supervisor, Operations Program Manager and Lean Manager report directly to this position. The Plant Manager will report to the Cluster Manager. Other functional reports to the Plant Manager position include the Manufacturing Engineering General Supervisor and the Finance Cluster Manager. Responsibilities and Duties The Plant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's manufacturing facility – ensuring superior service to our customers, with a strong focus on cost, quality and on-time delivery. The selected candidate is responsible for developing, monitoring, measuring and managing the group's business plan to ensure objectives are met. Driving profits and revenue growth through safe an efficient manufacturing operations while improving yields and eliminating waste will be a key mandate for this leader. The Plant Manager will ensure that all site operations continually meet or exceed organizational objectives and be capable of building, developing, and managing strong teams and establishing a performance-based culture around accountability and operational excellence. Focusing on building a world-class team, utilizing and deploying lean techniques, driving achievement of company goals and superior performance across all KPIs (Key Performance Initiatives) will be a critical element of this position. This person must have at least 7 years of hands-on operations experience at a company recognized as sophisticated and best-in-class in lean manufacturing. Experience in the high speed metal stamping and component assembly industry (or similar manufacturing processes) is a plus. It is important that all candidates have experience with managing a union site. All candidates must be technically astute, detail oriented and extremely good at analyzing data, as well as relentless about execution and delivering results. The successful candidate will have a strong track record as a leader, including team leadership, people development, and "top grading" – driving accountability and behaviors across all levels and helping employees understand the connection between their day-to-day duties and the company's mission and vision. He/She will spend significant time with team members and will routinely solicit ideas and push his/her people to find new solutions to improve the business. This individual will empower his/her team to take risks while measuring their performance and holding them accountable for results. The Plant Manager will be required to interface on a regular basis with the company's executive team, senior leaders of operations across our global footprint, its major customers and suppliers, and therefore, he/she should be credible, articulate and highly intelligent. He/she should be capable of developing an effective vision for operations that can facilitate growth and continued expansion. All candidates should have a track record of forming strong linkages/relationships with the other functional areas/working cross-functionally, e.g. with sales/marketing, finance, human resources, and product development, and R&D, and is fluid moving between strategic and tactical thinking (and behavior), planning and execution, and leading and managing. Strong analytical skills, ability to understand and digest financials and see through the numbers with respect to costs, pricing, projections, and market data; strong personal presence and strong presentation skills; must be transparent.
