SUMMARY

Performs daily inspections, corrective, and preventative maintenance on all ground support equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Inspect and maintain ground support equipment used in operations.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and/or overhaul ground support equipment.

  • Check and service ground support equipment with fuel, water, oil, and hydraulic fluid.

  • Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals.

  • Completion of GSE paperwork as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or jet engine noise. Must have ability to:

  • Regularly required to stand and walk.

  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, and hear.

  • Occasionally required to sit.

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

  • Read, write, and fluently speak and understand the English language.

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Write routine business correspondence.

  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisor, and employees.

  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed by uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Report to work in a regular and timely basis.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus one (1) year experience or; equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License.

  • Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred.

Our Airport Ground Coordinators have responsibilities which include monitoring airport activity and performing required security checks of aircraft post-arrival and pre-departure following established company and airport procedures. Airport Ground Coordinators ensure unattended aircraft are secure and perform security checks on all international arrivals, international departures and remain overnight (RON) aircraft. Security checks require an internal and external visual and manual inspection of aircraft cargo area, overhead bins, seat back pockets and under seats which will require climbing and descending stairs numerous times throughout your shift, bending, reaching and stooping. In addition, Airport Ground Coordinators ensure the correct loading of the aircraft and must maintain accurate logs and records made manually or by input into a computerized system. Job Requirements In this role the candidates must be able to perform all duties under sometimes stressful conditions beyond the employee's control while attempting to influence a favorable impression of American Eagle, American Airlines or any other contracted airline service provided by Envoy. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated. Position Requirements * Minimum age: 18 * High school diploma or GED equivalent * Valid state driver's license * Willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, weekends, and days off * Flexible to work additional hours with short notice when operationally necessary * Possess the legal right to work in the United States * Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language * Must be able to carry, bend, lift and turn with bags, parcels, and other heavy items weighing up to 75 lbs. Position Preferences * Previous work experience in customer service * Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand Spanish (in some locations) This position is not eligible for healthcare benefits or company travel privileges Additional Position Details * Tattoos, body piercings and/or tongue rings may not be visible while in company issued uniform at any time; tattoos cannot be covered with adhesive bandages or by other methods to render them not visible. * Candidates must fulfill a fingerprint based criminal background check to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable. * Candidates must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, in addition to clearing other airport related requirements, if applicable. * This position may be subject to the Department of Transportation (DOT).
