Capella Space is building a constellation of satellites, meant to monitor areas of interest quickly respond to unexpected requests, and deliver persistent and reliable data to customers. Understanding our satellites orbits and being able to control them the way we want to are keys to being able to address customer needs. As a Ground Software Engineer in GNC, you will work at the intersection of astrodynamics, space operations, and software development. You will interact with the GNC and Space Operations teams to understand satellite and constellation capabilities, build ground software to support satellite scheduling, maneuver planning.and the business team to provide bespoke analysis and implement software tools on how we can meet customer-specific needs.Youll be responsible for implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining GNC-related ground software applications (mission analysis, on-orbit maneuver planning...). Youll work across a variety of problems. For this position we are looking for a software engineer with a strong background and interest in satellite orbits to push the bounds of what has been accomplished in spacecraft navigation.

Requirements

Desired Qualifications (Not All Are Expected):

  • Bachelors or Masters in Aerospace, Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of a programming language(Python preferred)
  • Good foundations of software architecture, interface design, and testing patterns.
  • Experience building production software and API services.
  • Understanding of astrodynamics and satellite attitude dynamics
  • A willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
  • Enjoyment of teaching and learning from other team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires special access to conduct the work and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
