Grocery- Overnight Crew Chief

Overview

To stock merchandise on shelves and displays throughout the department in a careful, clean, neat and expedient manner; ensuring that all product is fresh, rotated and well stocked for our customers.

Pay for this position starts at $17.49 - $26.39 / hour.

Minimum Qualifications

1.Must be at least 18 years of age;2. Complete training in the grocery operation.3.

Ability to prioritize work load.4. Must have a sense of urgency.5. Capable of following verbal directions.6.

Must be able to read and write English adequately.7. Ability to speak, understand and follow English instructions.

Responsibilities

1.Maintain security of the store overnight and keep accurate records (such as time-lock log, night crew purchase report, receiving paperwork/pallet control, and pieces count sheets).2. Commit to the "Golden Rule" and work with other associated to build a strong night crew team.3.

Achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that is Respectful, Supportive and Totally Team Oriented (RSTO).4. Ensure the preparation of the grocery department for the next day's business; ordering to fill shelves, stocking neatly, pricing accurately, and cleaning up.5. Effectively control proper storage limiting shrink and damaged goods.6.

Control and notify grocery manager of potential shrink problems (damaged or missing merchandise; check loads carefully when receiving), product availability problems, potential security problems, and refrigeration checks).7. Monitor cooler and display area temperatures to ensure product quality; report refrigeration failure immediately.8. Ensure company standards of safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are achieved.9.

Practice the "Cleaner's Creed" and proper sanitation procedures.10. Order, receive, and unload deliveries; store, price, date, rotate, and stock product and prepare product for display and sale.11. Keep all grocery products in display cases, coolers and freezers rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first (first in, first out).12.

Ensure shelves are clean as they are restocked.13. Make sure that all shelves and displays are blocked and straightened.14. Minimize payroll expense (including overtime) by maintaining minimum piece count standards of 235 cases per night, per person.15.

Ensure sales and work area are swept clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report hazards to management.16. Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.17. Be sure to operate and clean department equipment and tools.

Secondary Job Functions:1. Clean and restock stock room.2.

Properly dispose of trash.3. Clean behind store, and clean up spills.4. Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs or property defacement.5.

Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene and business attitude.6. Successful completion of the passbook training within 60 days of entering the department.7. Other duties as assigned by management.
