  • Consistently performs work following all safety requirements and practices

  • Use precision gauging equipment to measure within close tolerances

  • Perform in process inspection of parts per approved quality standards

  • Use proper lifting equipment and procedures when handling large/heavy parts, fixtures or equipment

  • Recognize faulty operation of equipment by sight and sound, make minor repairs and adjustments.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Mechanically inclined

  • Other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma/GED is required

  • 2-5 years of Precision Grinding or related precision machine operator experience

  • CNC Grinding experience preferred

  • Working extended hours and/or weekends and holidays may be required

  • Must be able/willing to work 2nd shift

VIEW JOBS 3/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-24T00:00 Position Description Under direct supervision, the incumbent follows instructions and performs various manual tasks crucial to maintaining and repairing Precinct 4 roads, bridges and easements. Follows applicable laws and regulations to ensure safety on all public roads. * Cleans ditches and culverts of brush, trash, and rubbish. * Trims overhanging branches and bushes. * Patches potholes with asphalt and repairs concrete sidewalks. * Picks up trash along roadways and rights-of-way. * Drives pick-up trucks to transport crew and equipment to work-site. * Drives tractors with mower attachment to cut grass along roadways, rights-of-way, and hike-and-bike trails. * Operates slope, wing, and bush hog mowers. * Uses shovels, rakes, and other equipment. * Operates equipment; including but not limited to, * Weed-Eaters * Jack Hammers * Maintainers * Water Trucks * Excavators * Dump Trucks * Tractor/Mowers * Must also operate and maintain equipment in a manner that assures proper working order. Aids and assists with other necessary functions as directed. Performs related work as assigned. Experience levels will be assessed by supervisors and will determine use of equipment and job assignments. Environmental and Physical Requirements: * Physical ability to perform job duties including: standing, walking and using hands to finger; frequently reaching with hands and arms and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; occasionally sitting, climbing or balancing and talking or hearing. * Must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred (100) pounds. * Specific vision abilities including: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. * Regularly works near moving mechanical parts. * Frequently works in outside weather conditions and exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. * Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. * The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. * Must be honest, trustworthy and respectful. * Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changes. * Ability to multi-task and demonstrate sound work ethics. * Ability to apply understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. * Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
