To greet guests upon entrance to the dining room, direct guests to appropriate seating, and record payments upon guest's completion of the meal.
Schedule dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners.
Displays excellent customer relation skills and takes initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner and escorts them to tables provides menus and adds or removes place settings as required.
Responds to concerns of patrons as directed by supervisor.
Assign work tasks and coordinate activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons and fairness to servers.
Inspect dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and requisitions table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.
Notify servers of new tables and notify line cooks of the arrival of large parties.
May train dining room employees. May schedule work hours and keep time records of dining room workers.
Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management; complete safety training and certifications. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Ensure uniform and appearance is clean and professional. Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties, such as mopping floors and emptying trash cans.
May assist in planning menus. May prepare beverages and expedite food orders.
May total receipts, at end of shift, to verify sales and clear cash register. May collect payment from customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Speak clearly and talk easily with all kinds of people to put them at ease.
Use judgment and reasoning to cope with emergencies, such as sudden illness, accident, or interrupted service.
Perform a variety of activities, changing activities often and sometimes without notice.
