Greeter - Community Outreach (Part Time)

JOB SUMMARY

To greet, welcome, and aid patients, family, vendors, visitors, guest, and VIPs as necessary and needed to provide hospitality to and ease concerns and difficulties navigating and negotiating movement into and out off and throughout the hospital. Supervised by Environmental Services Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Cordially greets visitors and patients upon arrival. Ascertains Patients' and or visitors' needs and directs them accordingly.

Aids patients and visitors by obtaining wheelchairs or other services as needed.

Escorts or transports patients who need help to their destination within the hospital.

Assist patients entering and exiting vehicles,

Keeps the front driveway clear and unobstructed for patient and visitor drop-off and pick-up.

Contact Security, Environmental Service, or Facilities Management, for assistance when necessary.

Monitors the overall appearance of the hospital entrance.

Performs related duties as required and or directed.

Records and documents interactions.

Must be able to work weekends, and even other hours as needed per assigned responsibilities.

Mature, dependable, and caring individual who has the ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, families, visitors and staff.

Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

Greeters must be able to stand/walk for a three to four hours shift.

Facilitate communication regarding meetings in UMH Education Conference rooms.

Coordinate with Plant Operations and Environmental Services to ensure conference rooms are clean and organized prior to and after meeting transitions.

Performs all other duties assigned by team leader, supervisor, manager or hospital leadership to include but not limited to nursing supervisor, managers or senior leaders.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Required Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service.

Must possess high degree of organization and be able to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

Basic computer knowledge required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS

Functional Job Requirements:

Job requirements include, but are not limited to sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting and reaching. Requires good finger dexterity, repetitive motions with hands and fingers.

Requires ability to have good vision and hearing. Pushing and pulling equipment may be necessary.

Lifting Requirements

Job requires medium lifting on an occasional basis.
