The Opendoor Security Team leverages education, assessment, socialization, and empowerment to minimize risk and advance security at Opendoor. The Security team is both an in-house consultancy for business units and engineering teams as well as a fully functioning engineering unit assessing product and implementing controls to ensure security best practices across the company.

The Opendoor GRC team identifies and manages risk. It works closely with the business units and legal team to assess potential risks within the system, create comprehensive policies and procedures to address those risks and generates plans of action in the event that an incident occurs. As the first member of the GRC team, you own the overall growth of our risk program. While this is a very challenging role, it will also be very rewarding.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform gap analysis and security risk assessments to determine if the company's information assets are protected from internal and external threats and are aligned with regulatory requirements

  • Work across team to design, implement and test various security processes and controls

  • Conduct internal security audits and provide technical and business recommendation to process owners to remediate all findings

  • Work with the Security team in identifying technical security gaps as reported by internal and external customers

  • Business plan development and re-evaluation including IRP, BCP, DRP

  • Vendor Risk Assessment and re-evaluation

  • Creating and maintaining infosec policies and procedures

  • Recommend on onboard risk management tooling

We're looking for teammates who have:

  • Demonstrated ability owning a project and seeing it to completion

  • Ability to work across business units and within engineering

  • Audit background, including familiarity with SOC I (SSAE16) and SOC II, ISO 27001, etc. preferred

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize workload

  • Good judgment and analytical skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
