We currently seek a Technician to join our division located in Avon, CT, and help support our continued business growth within Sensing manufacturing. This position's primary function is to perform production work on Fiber Bragg Gratings product line, responsible for, but not limited to, fabricating and measuring Fiber Bragg Grating arrays, performing analysis and working with a team to conduct process improvement.

This position would work primarily during our 2nd shift operation, but flexibility is provided and preferred.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up production equipment within the grating station.

  • Fabricate and measure Fiber Bragg Gratings products.

  • Complete measurement and production documentation.

  • Support engineering on process development activities.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Key qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. College/Technical degree preferred.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and production testing.

  • Ability to read and understand complex manufacturing drawings/process layouts.

  • Experience in fusion splicing and measurement of optical fibers desired.

  • Precision, accuracy and attention to detail is critical.

  • Ability to collect and record measurement data. Capable or operating precision measurement equipment.

  • Experience working with high power lasers, optics, optical fibers, and fusion splicers preferred.
