Graphics/Multimedia, Adjunct Faculty - Onondaga Community College

Job Description:

The Art Program within the school of Art, Communications, Media and Music invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach courses in Web Design, Interface Design, Mobile Interaction Design, and User Experience as part of the graphics program withing the Art degree its Graphic and Multimedia Design Program in the fall of 2023.

Classes are conducted as 3-hour studios that meet once a week. Daytime and late afternoon availability is highly desirable.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree in Art with a concentration in graphic design from a regionally accredited college or university or a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and 18 graduate credits in the field of graphics is required.

• Applicants must: demonstrate knowledge of principles of Graphic Communication; demonstrate knowledge of PhotoShop, Dreamweaver and industry standard software and possess applicable industry experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ideal candidates will be designers specializing in web and interactive design with related professional experience.

• Thorough proficiency with current industry standard software programs, languages and web standards are required.

• The college seeks educators who have experience working with students from widely diverse backgrounds.

• Prior college teaching experience.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (other languages will be considered).

• The ability to encourage student success is essential to teaching at Onondaga Community College.

Additional Information:

The adjunct rate of pay per credit hour for the 2023-24 academic year is $1,371/credit hour.
