Graphics Designer, Mid

Key Role:

Design and develop complex graphics and illustrations for use in technical materials, manuals, and publications. Operate computer hardware and software to prepare, revise, print, and store text, illustrations, graphs, and charts. Operate equipment, including video and cameras for the design and production of photos and videotape. Formulate concepts and render illustration and detail from models, sketches, memory, written or verbal instructions, and imagination. Perform inking and paste-up, select type, draw lettering, lay out material, and perform related duties. Determine style, technique, and medium best suited to produce preferred effects and conform with reproduction requirements or follow specific instructions regarding these variables. Provide work leadership for lower level employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with PowerPoint, Publisher, and other graphics tools to render client-ready presentations and stand-alone products

  • Knowledge of military and government approaches to presentations and briefings

  • Ability to participate in brainstorming sessions or one-on-one meetings to take concepts and rough drawings and develop client-ready digital and paper-based products

  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment supporting multiple projects and teams with timely deliverables

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance required

  • BA or BS degree in Graphics Design or Visual Art with a focus on digital-based products

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Navy, Cyber, or previous corporate work preferred

  • Secret clearance

This role determines facility design and material, time and cost estimates for the construction and maintenance of subdivisions as well as relocation of distribution facilities for customers within assigned areas. Design distribution facilities based on customer load requirements and existing facilities. Inspect work request job sites, determine metering requirements and prepare sketches of property and service agreements. Prepare cost estimates based on design of new construction or modification. Prepare joint use notification CATV permits, underground agreements, revenue calculations, etc. Determine tree-trimming requirements and initiates activity. Obtain right-of-way and easement agreements and highway/railroad permits. Communicate electrical/construction requirements to customers. Assist in service restoration in the field during outages. Duties and responsibilities will be up to 60% in the office and up to 40% in the field. Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience * Personal computer software applications including Microsoft Office. AutoCad experience preferred. * Verbal, written and interpersonal communication; time management and organization; math and technical aptitude. * Effectively interact with customers; work in a team; attention to detail; understand and apply work flow process. * Physical attributes to perform essential function of the job in the field and during storm trouble - walking, climbing, stooping, bending and prolonged standing. * Student must be enrolled in 4-year program or in a 2-year program with intent to transfer to 4-year institution. * Students must have a graduation date of winter 2020 or later. * Engineering-degreed students in an ABET accredited program will not be considered for this position. All Engineering Technology degrees are acceptable. Interest in Building and Construction project management a plus. * Must have a 2.5 GPA or greater. * Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive a company vehicle. Education Requirements * Student must be enrolled in 4-year program or in a 2-year program with intent to transfer to 4-year institution. * Engineering-degreed students in an ABET accredited program will not be considered for this position * Students must have a graduation date of winter 2020 or later. * Must have a 2.5 GPA or greater.
