Description
The position will serve as a key contributor to the production of professionally designed and branded products for the campus. This position is envisioned to serve as the student contact for services and/or products provided by Medical and Strategic Communications. Incumbent must be very detail-oriented with excellent time management skills and will be responsible for producing high quality graphic design to include illustrations for a variety of printed and electronic publications. The incumbent must exhibit a willingness to learn and use new technology as needed. The incumbent may also be responsible for training personnel as department works to have sufficient back up in the absence of a co-worker. Persons in this classification are unique to the Division of Medical and Strategic Communications in that there are no similar positions elsewhere on the LSUHSC-S campus. Graphic Designers work on deadlines to create professionally branded LSU Health Shreveport materials to include but not limited to brochures, flyers, reports, posters, invitations, yearbooks, etc.
Regular attendance is required to perform the functions of this position.
Incumbent will maintain a customer-oriented awareness in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur so that customer satisfaction is always met.
Qualifications
Applicant must meet one of the following qualifications:
A baccalaureate degree with a concentration in graphic design/digital
An associate degree plus two years of graphic design/digital arts
Five years of graphic design/digital arts
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in graphic design and two years of graphic design/digital arts experience. Familiarity with photography and videography is desirable.
