US Toy is seeking a new member for our graphic design team. A Graphic Designer is part of our in-house creative team and help with all department and production tasks. Some of the creative responsibilities include: catalog layout and production, proofing, advertising design, photography direction and website design. Hands-on knowledge and experience working with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are a must. Illustration ability and familiarity with marketing concepts and principles are encouraged. Print experience preferred.


  • 4 Year Degree in Art/Graphic Design
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite CS3 or higher
  • Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign are a must
  • Strong page layout and catalog production experience
  • Excellent use of color and type
  • Photography skills a plus
  • Send samples of work or web links
  • Portfolio review and skills assessment are required
  • This is an entry level position with a 3 month probationary period

VIEW JOBS 9/27/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-26T00:00 What you will do: Provides design and drafting support for louver R&D engineering department on new product introductions, product enhancements and sustainment. Under general supervision, assumes full responsibility for assigned projects from concept to production. How you will do it: * Create 3D CAD models of proposed design from sketches, layouts or verbal instructions; checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various assemblies and components. * Prepare 2D CAD drawings of piece, parts, and assemblies involving selection of scales, dimensioning, detailed views, sectional views and all information required for successful manufacture of product. * Prepare bills of materials, set up parts, and assign part numbers. * Prepare part drawings and specifications and work with procurement team to source parts and materials from outside vendors. * Demonstrate knowledge and use of codes or standards for design applications and conformance as related to project. * Coordinate and support product testing with internal and external testing facilities and interpret test results for design improvements. * Gain and demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities through regular communication with manufacturing engineers and operations team. * Review project specifications and requirements to assure conformance of design and fabrication of product. What we look for: * Associate's Degree or equivalent and 3-5 years of experience in a design/drafting role. * Proficient at using 3D and 2D CAD software in modeling, drafting and design tasks. Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD preferred. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Knowledge of design for manufacturing principles a plus. * Ability to work with minimal direction independently and as a member of a team. * Ability to organize and perform multiple ongoing projects and responsibilities. * Strong ability to write routine reports and correspondence; to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. * Willingness to travel minimally (up to 10%) to visit manufacturing plants, witness product testing, etc. Who we are: Johnson Controls is a global diversified technology and multi industrial leader serving a wide range of customers in more than 150 countries.
