JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State's Multimedia and Print Center is seeking a skilled graphic designer. The is an on-site position, and is responsible for assisting the art director with the design and production of print and digital materials.

A successful candidate will have experience understanding marketing goals and client needs - translating these requirements into effective design solutions that meet project and branding objectives across a range of platforms involving print channels, as well as social media, email, digital banner ads, presentations, and websites. Responsibilities also include tracking projects in various software and maintaining all archives. This position is defined as floating and is assigned to work in the Multimedia and Print Center. Based on the University's organizational needs in the future, the position may be assigned to support other work areas.

Candidates are required to have a thorough understanding of design and typography, offset- and digital-print processes and color systems, and must be highly proficient with Mac OS, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, along with basic Microsoft Office products. Among its duties, the position entails creating inclusive projects for Penn State's diverse campus community, and will need excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced budget- and deadline-driven environment. Familiarity with creating accessible digital PDFs and working in a Windows environment are a plus.

Education and Experience:

Minimum requirement is an Associates degree plus two (2) years of relevant experience. Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is being filled at the Graphic Design Specialist - Intermediate profile level.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
