Position Summary

Our Marketing team seeks a Graphic Designer to join the team in this freelance/contract role! This role will be 100% remote.

Seeking a highly collaborative Graphic Designer (Freelance/Contract) to support the Murray's Cheese design team with experience producing dynamic, brand-focused creative assets ensuring that branding standards are met and supporting all business channels while maintaining brand integrity. Organization is highly expected as well as being able to balance multiple, fast-moving needs of multiple timelines. As the Graphic Designer (Freelance/Contract) at Murray's Cheese, not only are you an ambitious designer, but you are an ultra-creative problem solver with keen attention to detail in all your work. You are responsible for creating brand focused point of sale materials for our retail shops in NYC and nationwide and executing sales decks and materials for various businesses having a strong understanding of design principles, image selection, copy layout, and typography. You love working collaboratively with a growing marketing team to translate marketing strategies and projects into visually compelling creations of the Murray's brand.

  • Knowledgeable: You have a solid understanding of design tools and software and are always in the know on new industry trends. You're skilled in print design and understand the various nuances and needs when working with 3rd party printers and services.

  • Business Driven: You can make creative suggestions and decisions on branding and design that are in the best interest of our business based on the brand guidelines and overall brand strategies. You are able to focus design projects around business goals while pushing the brand forward.

  • Self-Sufficient: You can work independently and understand that research and fact gathering is critical before starting any project. You enjoy collaborating with others, gathering the tools needed for projects, and paying close attention to brand guidelines. You care about the tiny details when proofing and organizing your files meticulously.

What You Do

  • Collaborate with marketing and other teams to understand project requirements and objectives.

  • Create visually appealing production-ready assets for print and digital media that align with brand guidelines and business goals. This includes in-store retail signage, direct mailers, brochures, event materials, site assets, ads, and more.

  • Create assets in accordance to production deadlines, and technical specifications.

  • Modify and revise existing designs to meet new needs or to improve design quality.

  • Export print-ready files in accordance with printer's specifications and requirements.

  • Maintain the visual brand identity, ensuring consistency and cohesiveness across all touch-points.

  • Revise and refine designs based on feedback from internal teams.

What We Need From You

  • Three or more years of experience in professional graphic design, with experience in both print and digital design.

  • A strong portfolio that showcases a range of work.

  • Experience in print design and have strong print production knowledge.

  • Experience working with digital ads (gifs and emails) preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop is a must- strong skillset preferred.

  • You have strong skills in layout, hierarchy, typography, concepting for print and digital.

  • You have effective communication skills and pay close attention to detail.

  • You are a quick learner who can handle shifting priorities and responsibilities

  • Experience with packaging design is a plus.

  • Experience with Lightroom is a plus.
