The company is seeking a Graphic Designer for the Communications team who will play a critical role in maintaining the visual identity of the New Borden.

The Graphic Designer will lead design and creative initiatives for internal communications, public relations and executive communications. This person will be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into creative materials that visually convey the concepts desired to achieve company goals. Designs should inspire, inform and captivate Borden employees and other key audiences.

The Graphic Designer will deliver against brand strategy and ensure continuity in the companys messaging by partnering with the Senior Director of Corporate Communications, the executive team (including the CEO and CHRO in particular), and agency partners.

This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining internal communications materials that promote employee engagement as well as public relations materials to attract interest in the company. Graphic design work will span: PowerPoint presentations, the company intranet, fliers, posters, videos, invitations, emails, the company newsletter, advertisements and more.

Note: The person in this Graphic Designer (Communications) position will work closely with the Marketing Graphic Designer to ensure brand consistency; the Marketing Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing POS materials, labels, and other customer- and consumer-facing collateral.


  • Creative development for: PowerPoint presentations, advertisements, the employee newsletter, social media, intranet, emails, event collateral, retail and promotional items, video graphics and more.

  • Ensure creative is consistent with the master brand architecture and positioning.

  • Work to identify and develop new methods to drive creative efficiencies.

  • Catalog all assets, presentations, creative, artwork, etc., in a logical and easily accessible manner; ensure assets are up to date.

  • Identify and address branding issues in relation to design and graphic assets.

  • Consistently demonstrate integrity, professional maturity, commitment and accountability.

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in design, the CPG and dairy industries to keep Borden on the cutting edge of innovation.

  • Foster strong working relationships across the company, collaborating with the executive team, marketing, sales, communications and agency partners to ensure creative supports business objectives and is on brand.

  • Seek internal alignment and approvals that meet/exceed deadlines.


  • 4+ years of graphic design experience required.

  • Bachelors degree required with emphasis in fine arts, design or graphics or equivalent number of years of experience, plus three years of graphic design experience.

  • Expert proficiency with Adobe CS, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, PowerPoint and MS Office. Video editing, illustration and animation expertise a bonus.

  • Passion for thoughtful graphic design and brand building.

  • Experience with integrated marketing work across print, digital, social and experiential.

  • Knowledge of production procedures, timelines and printing terminology.

  • Excellent organization skills, reporting skills, attention to detail and ability to effectively collaborate, communicate and influence others.

  • Proactive, customer-centric mindset.

Scope of the position: The Graphic Designer is a member of the Museum's Design and Interpretation Department, working collaboratively to ensure a consistent brand-focused and high-quality visual aesthetic of all print, environmental, and digital communications under the leadership of the Director of Design and Content Strategy and in collaboration with departments across the museum. Specific responsibilities of the Graphic Designer include providing designs for print, environmental, and digital communications as well as overseeing any/all aspects of production on time and within budget. Requirements Essential Functions: * Design and produce and/or oversee production of graphic projects including but not limited to marketing and advertising communications and materials, institutional print and digital publications, special event invitations, presentation materials, educational and programming brochures and interpretative materials, wayfinding, and signage for exhibition and permanent collection installations and the building/campus of the DMA. * Implement and maintain the visual application of the Museum's brand and assure that the Museum's graphic identity/brand and graphic standards are adhered to consistently throughout the Museum. * Ensure consistency and quality of exhibition and permanent collection installation graphics. * Work with Design and Interpretation staff to implement museum wide label standards. * Collaborate on design of web-based communications, including online communications, e-newsletters, and the Museum's web sites and social media outlets. * Oversee external contractors for the design, production, delivery, and installation of graphics. * Consult with freelance production artists, photographers, illustrators, and other creative agencies to collaborate on creative concepts and final product deliverables as needed. * Assist in the protection of the Museum copyright as well as that of the art works and artists. * Responsible for keeping informed about current and new production methods and media, especially those allowing innovation in design. * Attend departmental and other museum strategic planning meetings as required. * Present information on print and digital creative guidelines and procedures. * Track all materials necessary for timely installation of graphic elements, to ensure all materials, including text and images, are procured in a timely manner and help ensure accuracy of text. * Manage the production of graphics, including scheduling, negotiating costs, approving and routing proofs, and press checks to ensure quality of production, timely delivery, and meeting agreed deadlines. * Prepare and recommend budgets for graphic projects. Estimate and negotiate costs with vendors, and maintain quality control of outside production. * Schedule the delivery of graphics projects on time and within budget. * Maintain inventory of graphics equipment, tools, and supplies, and monitor their condition. * Manage the storage and in-house distribution of printed materials. * Other duties, as assigned. Education, Experience, and Certification * Bachelor's degree in graphic design * 4+ years of graphic design experience encompassing initial concept stage to final press check and experience with graphic production processes.
