Job Description:

  • Design clear engaging graphic communications for print and web. This will include animated videos, event and workshop marketing materials, branded promotional items, website and social media graphics, posters, banners, flyers, and other marketing materials as needed.

  • Work within existing brand framework and adhere to brand standards.

  • Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions related to the development of future marketing and advertising campaigns.

  • Help with administration and production of departmental events.

  • Other duties as requested.

Work Schedule - 10-15 hours/week

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience using Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign as demonstrated in application materials.

  • Must be enrolled in at least six hours at The University of Kansas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic public relations and marketing principles.

  • A creative and innovative thinker with the ability to understand the role of social networking, and create content in the appropriate voice for the organization.

  • General knowledge of video editing and development skills.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and on multiple projects.

  • Highly organized, very detailed and an excellent communicator.

  • Selfdisciplined, a self-starter, and proficient in time management.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Demonstrated visual design skills set to an overall brand identity as presented in application materials.

VIEW JOBS 4/5/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-07-04T00:00 Job Description The Intramural Sports Program Manager of staff is responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of Intramural Sports Supervisors and sport officials for sports such as basketball, flag football, outdoor/indoor soccer, and volleyball. The Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff is also responsible for the daily operations of the Intramural Sports program which include communication with staff and participants, and the administration of over 30 sports and events. This individual will have supervision from the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports and will work closely with the Recreation Services Professional Staff. An Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff must maintain a complete knowledge of the Intramural Sports program and stay up to date with NIRSA and NFHS sport rule changes. Experience as an Intramural Sports Supervisor at The University of Kansas or similar situation is preferred, but not required. A Program Manager of Staff will maintain daily office hours Monday - Friday, various weekend hours, with possible early morning hours. A wide variety of skills are developed by Intramural Sports student employees which include, but are not limited to: * Accountability * Communication * Conflict Resolution * Decision Making * Integrity * Leadership * Teamwork The Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff assists in overseeing the Intramural Sports program and activities by: * Planning, promoting, executing, and evaluating the daily operations of the Intramural Sports program * Aiding in Intramural Sports and Recreation Services Staff Trainings * Preparing budget reports for each Intramural Sports event * Identifying and revising appropriate playing rules for over 30 sports and events * Assisting in facility scheduling of the 144,087 square foot Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center * Hiring, training, overseeing, scheduling, and evaluating 10 Intramural Sports Supervisors * Hiring, training, overseeing, scheduling, and evaluating over 50 Intramural Sports officials * Serving as the first point of contact for 10 Intramural Sports Supervisors and over 50 Intramural Sports Officials * Assisting in the development and evolution of the Intramural Sports Policies and Procedures * Administering the Official of the Week and Granada Player of the Week Awards * Administering the Official of the Year Award * Leading portions of the Bi-Weekly Intramural Sports Supervisor Meetings * Data entry to include maintenance of season and tournament standings * Reporting and replying to incidents of unsportsmanlike conduct through established procedures * Acquiring of supplies and equipment * Utilizing university communication devices Continuing to supervise and officiate all 9 team sports as needed Required Qualifications An applicant for the position of Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff must have: * Status as an enrolled student with at least 6 hours at The University of Kansas * Availability to work two office hours per day Monday - Friday during regular business hours, with some weekend hours required * Availability to work on Sundays * Strong written and verbal skills as demonstrated on application material * Prior experience and/or background in team sports/activities * Prior officiating experience of at least one year in at least one major sport * Prior experience requiring the implementation of company policies * Current CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment * Current NFHS Concussion In Sports Certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment * Availability to be present and engaged at Intramural Sports Program Manager Training on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 * Availability to be present and engaged at Intramural Sports Supervisor Training on Friday, August 21, 2020 * Availability to be present and engaged at Recreation Services All-Staff Training on Saturday, August 22, 2020 Preferred Qualifications The preferred application for the position of Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff will have: * Intramural Sports Supervision experience at The University of Kansas or similar situation * Officiating experience in the Intramural Sports Program at The University of Kansas or similar situation * A willingness to learn and have fun * IMLeagues.com online software experience * WhenToWork.com online employee scheduler software experience * A positive attitude University Of Kansas Lawrence KS
