Summary

Responsible for the creation of designs, ad layouts, and electronic artwork for output of digital and printed materials used in the AG Advertising/Marketing programs as well as other forms of graphic communication in which the Creative Services Department produces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design, layout and produce electronic artwork on the Mac system, using desktop publishing software including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other software applications.

  • Gather and review information and all necessary materials to complete assignments.

  • Plan design concepts by studying said information and related materials.

  • Follow detailed instructions and make timely decisions regarding design concepts.

  • Creatively utilize basic design principles, color and font selection to maximize design.

  • Timely designs, produces and submits assigned jobs according to production schedule.

  • Obtains appropriate approval before submitting proofs to client.

  • Prepare and pre-flight electronic press ready files for production according to printer requirements.

  • Accurately enter any ad changes received from member stores.

  • Assist coworkers with proofreading.

  • Communicate with immediate Supervisor any special request and/or problems from retailers/customers.

  • Perform related tasks as required.

  • Multi-task in a deadline driven fast paced environment.

Education and/or Experience

Currently in Year 3 or 4 working towards a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university. Position could be college credit.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience with vector drawing and layout programs, preferably InDesign & Illustrator.

  • Knowledge of CMYK 4-color process printing and spot-color separations.

  • Ability to type and use a mouse

  • Ability to follow detailed directions

  • Ability to verbally communicate with customers (retailers)

  • Good organizational skills

  • Good spelling skills

  • Ability to mask & color correct photography as necessary

Scope: Responsible for providing support as assigned by the Graphic Designer within design deadlines. Works with the communications team to design, edit and proof collateral.
