Graphic Artist

Do you have a passion for creating clear and compelling visuals? Avum is seeking a talented graphic artist to join our dynamic team and collaborate with technical writers and communications stakeholders to develop visually engaging documentation and presentations for implementation of an enterprise DoD contract writing system. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the US, with occasional travel required.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Partnering with technical writers to design informative graphics, illustrations, and charts for user manuals, computing systems, white papers, and other client deliverables

• Crafting visually appealing presentations to communicate complex technical information effectively to users of all technical all levels

• Maintain brand consistency across all visual materials

• Possess a keen eye for detail and ensure the accuracy and clarity of all visuals

What You Will Need:

• Five (5) years of experience as a Graphic Artist or in a similar role

• A strong understanding of visual design principles and best practices

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, and

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the technical writers, and other corporate communications team members

• Must be able to collect/understand requirements and design, explain and articulate wireframes and mockups of all marketing projects

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

• A portfolio of sample designs

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain or maintain US Government security clearance

If You Have This, It’s A Plus:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Marketing or related field

• Experience creating visuals for DoD technical documentation or presentations

• Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles

• Experience with Figma and HTML

• A portfolio of work supporting the implementation of government IT procurement systems

• Active US Government Secret or higher clearance

Location:

This fully remote role requires the candidate to participate in meetings virtually using tools like Microsoft Teams. Online availability will be required during the core Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours, Monday through Friday. The candidate will collaborate with external project team members and Avum employees as part of the remote setup. Although primarily remote, occasional in-person meetings may be required, potentially including travel to government sites in Washington, D.C., and the Avum office in Agoura Hills, California

Salary

Starting salaries for this position range from $65,000 - $85,000 and are commensurate with experience. The position is full-time, salaried, with benefits.
